Chinese electric vehicle maker Xpeng reported record monthly deliveries of 50,237 vehicles in October, a 22% increase from the previous month and a 20% rise year-on-year, according to Sina Auto. The company said overseas deliveries reached 13,326 units, up 166% from a year earlier, also a record for a single month.
MONA M05 launch drives growth
The delivery surge was fueled by the launch of the MONA M05, a compact electric sedan that went on sale in October with a limited-time price starting at 139,800 yuan (about $19,700). The model began nationwide deliveries on November 1. Since the MONA series debuted two years ago, cumulative deliveries have exceeded 360,000 units.
Xpeng's overall performance underscores the growing strength of China's EV makers in both domestic and international markets. The company's overseas expansion has been particularly notable, with the 166% year-on-year jump in overseas deliveries highlighting increasing demand for Chinese EVs abroad.
The record month comes as Xpeng continues to expand its product lineup and global footprint. The company, known for its smart driving technology and BEV (battery-electric) models, has been aggressively pursuing growth in Europe and other markets.
Industry context
Xpeng's achievement follows a broader trend of Chinese EV makers posting strong sales figures. The company's focus on technology-driven features, such as advanced driver assistance systems, has helped differentiate its vehicles in a competitive market.
With the MONA M05 now in full production and deliveries ramping up, Xpeng is poised to maintain its momentum in the coming months. The company's ability to balance domestic growth with international expansion will be key to sustaining its record-breaking performance.
