Volkswagen's Anhui joint venture has officially launched the refreshed 06 and 07 electric models, with the compact coupe SUV 06 priced from 129,900 to 169,900 yuan (about $18,300 to $23,900) and the mid-size fastback 07 from 109,900 to 149,900 yuan (about $15,500 to $21,100). During a Double 11 shopping festival promotion, the Lite trims drop to 119,900 yuan (about $16,900) for the 06 and 99,900 yuan (about $14,100) for the 07, according to NetEase Auto.
All prices are Chinese guide prices before taxes and incentives. Buyers also qualify for a three-year zero-interest loan with a low down payment and a 10,000 yuan (about $1,400) cash subsidy during the promotion period.
Lidar and urban NOA lead the upgrade
The headline change is the addition of a 192-line lidar system, making both models the first in their class to offer it, the company said. The sensor, developed with 25 perception units around the car, supports urban NOA (city advanced driver assistance) with end-to-end navigation from parking spot to parking spot. The system can activate from standstill and handles complex scenarios such as left turns at traffic lights, U-turns and narrow-road passing.
The driver-assistance platform is built by Carizon using Horizon Robotics' Journey 6H chip with 420 TOPS of computing power. An HS8 end-to-end model, trained on the GAIA 2.0 world model, aims for more human-like driving decisions. Both cars also get 23 active safety features, including forward emergency braking and rear automatic braking.
Inside, the VW OS 1.3 system brings a 3D fusion desktop that renders according to real weather and time, plus lane-level navigation with custom 3D maps. New driver and occupant monitoring systems are included, and the AI assistant, powered by ByteDance's Doubao large language model, supports voice commands across four zones without wake words.
Longer-range battery option
Both models now offer a 77.5 kWh battery pack, with the 06 rated at 630 km (about 391 miles) and the 07 at 670 km (about 416 miles) on China's CLTC cycle. For context, CLTC figures are typically 15-20% more optimistic than WLTP, so European drivers should expect roughly 504-536 km (about 313-333 miles) for the 06 and 536-570 km (about 333-354 miles) for the 07, estimates only.
Volkswagen says the battery packs meet its "golden safety standard," passing 436 full-scenario tests, with 1,300 J of bottom-impact resistance and 5-millisecond fast power-off protection. The thermal management system has been tested from -40°C to 40°C, keeping cell temperature differences within 5°C.
The 06 measures 4,663 mm long with a 2,766 mm wheelbase, while the 07 is 4,853 mm long with a 2,826 mm wheelbase. Both come in six exterior colors, with the 07 offering 19-inch wheels as standard and 20-inch options.
The launch marks a significant step for Volkswagen Anhui, the joint venture that has been repositioning its China EV lineup with more localized technology. The addition of lidar and urban NOA at these price points puts the 06 and 07 in direct competition with domestic brands that have made advanced driver assistance a key selling point in China's crowded EV market.
