Visteon, the US automotive cockpit electronics supplier, posted net sales of $970 million for the third quarter of 2026, according to a financial report cited by Gasgoo and republished by D1EV. The result came despite a 5% year-on-year decline in customer vehicle production, with Visteon recording sales growth of 10% above the market, driven by new product launches and sustained customer demand.
Profit hit by one-time warranty charge
Net profit for the quarter was $5 million, with adjusted EBITDA of $46 million. The results included a special warranty expense of $77 million, which weighed on profitability. Excluding that charge, the company's earnings would have been considerably stronger, the report noted.
The 10% growth figure, which strips out the effects of currency movements and net pricing, is calculated against customer production weighted by sales contribution. It reflects Visteon's competitive position in the intelligent cockpit segment, according to the company.
Order book and product momentum
Visteon secured $900 million in new orders during the quarter, maintaining a steady order backlog that supports future revenue conversion. The company launched 21 new products across 14 customers, expanding both its customer base and product portfolio. Among these, its core SmartCore HPC (high-performance computing) platform has entered mass production.
Despite the drag from the special warranty charge, the company's sales growth outpaced the industry, new orders remained ample, and the core HPC product reached production, indicating a solid operational foundation and that its intelligent cockpit business is progressing as expected, according to Gasgoo.
