Stellantis narrows Q3 net loss to 453 million euros, down 90% year on year

Stellantis reported a third-quarter net loss of 453 million euros, a 90% improvement from a year earlier, as its restructuring begins to pay off.

Stellantis, the parent company of brands including Peugeot, Fiat, and Jeep, posted a net loss of 453 million euros (about 3.2 billion yuan) for the third quarter of 2026, narrowing its year-on-year loss by roughly 90%, according to a report from Gasgoo cited by Chinese outlet D1EV. In the same period of 2025, the company recorded a net loss of 4.722 billion euros, driven largely by major one-off items.

Revenue holds steady, margins improve

Net revenue for the quarter reached 37.61 billion euros, up 1.0% year on year. Growth in Europe and South America, each up 3%, partially offset a 3% decline in North America. Adjusted operating income came in at 256 million euros, with an adjusted operating margin of 0.7%, up 50 basis points from a year earlier. All regions except Europe posted positive adjusted operating margins.

Global consolidated shipments were approximately 1.3 million vehicles, down 1% year on year, with North America down 12% due to planned production halts. Despite the improved profitability, industrial free cash flow remained negative at 4.01 billion euros for the quarter, though that was about 300 million euros better than a year earlier. Industrial available liquidity stood at 42.7 billion euros, equivalent to 26% of trailing 12-month net revenue, within the company's target range of 25% to 30%.

Restructuring progress

The results come after Stellantis underwent a deep strategic overhaul in fiscal 2025, booking roughly 25.4 billion euros in special charges related to product plan restructuring and EV supply chain reductions, which led to a full-year net loss of 22.3 billion euros - its first annual loss since the merger that created the company. The sharp reduction in losses in the third quarter of 2026 signals that the company's financial performance is gradually emerging from the restructuring trough, according to Gasgoo.

Stellantis reaffirmed its full-year 2026 financial guidance and maintained its expectation of positive industrial free cash flow by 2027. The company's 'FaSTLAne 2030' strategy and 'value creation plan' are cited as key drivers of the improvement.
