Seres' new AIVA brand has taken a step toward production with the filing of its first model, the ME7, in China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) vehicle catalog. The five-seat electric coupe SUV features a sleek fastback design and dual-motor all-wheel drive, according to NetEase Auto.
Design and dimensions
The ME7 measures 4,999 mm long, 1,999 mm wide, and 1,616 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,050 mm. The long wheelbase is expected to provide generous legroom for front and rear passengers. The vehicle has a front track of 1,716 mm and rear track of 1,722 mm, with approach and departure angles of 16 and 20 degrees, respectively, allowing it to handle light off-road conditions.
Buyers can choose from several wheel options, including 20-inch and 21-inch rims, with tire sizes ranging from 255/50 R20 to 285/45 R21. Optional extras include red sport brake calipers, a black roof, and a tow hook with an electrical connector, catering to personalization and outdoor needs. The vehicle comes with a towing capacity of 700 kg.
Powertrain and battery
The ME7 is powered by a dual-motor setup: a front motor with 60 kW rated and 150 kW peak output, and a rear motor with 70 kW rated and 270 kW peak output, combining for a system peak power of 420 kW. The top speed is 255 km/h. The battery is a ternary lithium-ion pack supplied by CATL. Curb weight varies between 2,425 kg and 2,480 kg depending on configuration.
While the filing does not disclose cabin details, AIVA has previously indicated the ME7 will feature an AI-native cockpit, likely powered by ByteDance's Volcano Engine Doubao large model. The driver assistance system will be independent from Seres' AITO (Wenjie) series, aiming for differentiation. More details are expected in future official announcements.
