New filings with China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) reveal that the updated AITO M7 will be offered with both 5- and 6-seat layouts, along with a choice of range-extender (EREV) or battery-electric (BEV) powertrains, according to Autohome.
The refreshed M7 continues the design language of the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA), with a full-width daytime running light bar across the front. The main visual difference between the BEV and EREV versions is the lower front fascia trim. The option list includes 20-inch and 21-inch wheel designs, powered side steps, fender decorations, and different exterior mirror styles.
Seating and practicality
The 5-seat version prioritizes cargo space, making it suitable for long family trips or hauling bulky items. The 6-seat variant uses a 2+2+2 three-row layout with independent second-row seats, aimed at multi-member households seeking comfort for more passengers.
Powertrain details from the filing show the BEV will come in single-motor rear-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive configurations, using a ternary lithium battery. The EREV version pairs a 1.5-liter turbocharged range extender producing 118 kW (158 hp) with either rear- or all-wheel-drive electric motors.
Autohome says it will continue to monitor and report on further details of the new M7 as they emerge.
