Li Auto has unveiled the 2026 i6, a mid-cycle refresh of its best-selling battery-electric sedan, with a national unified retail price of 249,800 yuan (about $35,200) before taxes and incentives. The first-batch promotional price is 239,800 yuan (about $33,800). The update, announced on October 28, comes exactly one year after the original i6 began deliveries, during which time nearly 190,000 units have been sold and the car earned a net promoter score of 80.2, according to the Chinese outlet 电动邦.
The 2026 i6 focuses on six areas that owners highlighted in feedback: a standard electric front trunk, a larger 96 kWh battery, more comfortable seats, a bigger display, a faster chip, and improved storage. The electric frunk can be opened via voice, double-tap, app, or screen, and includes a visual anti-pinch feature. The rear-wheel-drive version's CLTC range rises from 720 km to 780 km (about 485 miles, WLTP est. 660 km), while the all-wheel-drive version achieves 710 km (about 441 miles, WLTP est. 600 km). In a live test simulating real driving, the car covered 811.4 km (about 504 miles) on a single charge, exceeding its official rating by 4%.
Comfort and cabin upgrades
Both front seats are now full-size zero-gravity units with a 150-degree recline, 16-way power adjustment, and 18-point massage. The passenger-side dashboard has been raised 40 mm to improve legroom for tall occupants. The second-row "queen seat" reclines up to 140 degrees with an electric footrest and extended center armrest. Li Auto says the seats are tested to withstand 20,000 cycles of a 80 kg occupant getting in and out, and 10,000 cycles of a 100 kg person kneeling on them.
The cabin adds an 8.8-liter refrigerator that can freeze to -6 degrees Celsius, a five-zone climate control system with separate foot-level temperature zones for driver and passenger, and a larger makeup mirror with adjustable color temperature and brightness. A 67-watt fast-charging USB port is now in the second-row center armrest, and the doors feature both electric release buttons and mechanical handles.
Battery and charging
The 2026 i6 uses Li Auto's self-developed Lianshan lithium iron phosphate 5C battery, with energy consumption of 13.4 kWh per 100 km. The company claims 500 km (about 311 miles) of range can be added in 10 minutes using its network of over 4,100 fast-charging stations. Winter performance is improved with a 10 kW high-voltage coolant heater, up from 6 kW, which warms the cabin 10 degrees Celsius faster at -30 degrees. Li Auto also introduced a battery guarantee plan covering two scenarios: if a battery defect causes a fire or total loss, the owner receives a new car of equivalent specification; if a collision or underbody scrape leads to fire and write-off, the company covers the gap between insurance payout and the vehicle's insured value.
The infotainment system is powered by a Qualcomm 8797 chip with seven times the neural-network computing power of the previous 8295, paired with a 29-inch 6K panoramic display. The company's self-developed Mach M100 chip, rated at 1280 TOPS, handles driver-assistance computing, and can be doubled with an optional dual-Mach package. Seven 8-megapixel cameras extend obstacle detection, and UWB radar replaces ultrasonic sensors. The car supports CarPlay, HiCar, and Carlink for smartphone integration. The UWB sentry mode's power consumption is reduced to one-fifth of the previous generation.
The i6 retains its structural rigidity of over 52,000 Nm per degree and earned a top "5G" safety rating from the China Insurance Automotive Safety Index (C-IASI). Standard equipment includes dual-chamber air suspension, adaptive ADB headlights, dual zero-gravity seats, and the 29-inch screen. Optional packages include the dual-Mach setup for 20,000 yuan, dual-motor all-wheel drive for 20,000 yuan, rear entertainment screen for 10,000 yuan, electric tow hitch for 6,000 yuan, and platinum audio for 5,000 yuan. Buyers who order before November 30 can choose a special paint color worth 6,000 yuan for free.
