Geely sold 270,194 vehicles in August, up 8% year on year, with new-energy vehicles accounting for 65% of the total. Exports surged 205% to 110,094 units, and the company raised its 2026 overseas sales target to 920,000 units.

Geely Automobile Holdings reported August sales of 270,194 vehicles, up 8% year on year and 8% month on month, according to Sina Auto. It was the sixth consecutive month of double growth in both metrics. New-energy vehicles, including those from Geely, Lynk & Co, and Zeekr, reached 175,877 units, up 19% year on year, accounting for 65% of total sales.

Exports hit a record 110,094 units in August, up 205% year on year and 3% month on month, marking the eighth straight month of double growth. New-energy exports totaled 70,629 units, a 446% surge year on year, representing 64% of all exports. Geely says it is now in a "system going global" phase, with overseas expansion accelerating across Europe, Latin America, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East.

Brands and models

Zeekr, Geely's luxury BEV (battery-electric) brand, delivered 36,981 vehicles in August, up 110% year on year. The Zeekr 7X continued to sell over 10,000 units monthly, with global orders surpassing 200,000. The Zeekr 9X ranked first among models priced above 500,000 yuan (about $70,400) in China from January to July, while the Zeekr 009 led the 400,000-yuan-plus BEV MPV segment in sales and reputation for three consecutive months.

Lynk & Co, Geely's global premium new-energy brand, sold 17,027 vehicles in August, up 4% month on month, with new-energy models at 15,504 units, up 10% month on month. The brand showcased the new Lynk & Co 20 and the Lynk & Co 20 Flying Edition at the Chengdu auto show in late August. Lynk & Co also expanded into rally racing, winning the S7 class at the China Rally Championship in Huairou with the 07GT rally car.

The mainstream Geely brand sold 216,186 vehicles in August, up 5% year on year and 9% month on month. The Galaxy new-energy sub-brand contributed 119,115 units, up 8% year on year. The Galaxy Xingyuan (also known as Geely EX2 overseas) sold 60,955 units, staying above 50,000 for three consecutive months, with cumulative sales near 900,000. The Galaxy E5 added 14,132 units. In the fuel-vehicle segment, the Geely China Star series sold 97,071 units, up 8% month on month.

New models and technology

Geely is pushing its "full-domain AI" transformation, integrating AI across design, R&D, manufacturing, and after-sales. On August 28, the company unveiled its AI new-energy off-road technology, featuring the GTA native new-energy off-road architecture, the Thor EM-T all-wheel-drive AI hybrid system, and an AI all-terrain digital chassis. The technology debuts on the Galaxy Battleship 700, an AI off-road SUV that will start presales in September.

In the sedan segment, the Galaxy TT, a C-class AI electric sport sedan, opened presales on August 13 with a starting guide price of 145,900 yuan (about $20,500) before taxes and incentives. The fourth-generation Boyue L i-HEV, a hybrid fuel SUV, also debuted at the Chengdu show, while the flagship Xingyue L PLUS is set to make its first appearance on September 5.

Geely's overseas momentum is reflected in market wins: Zeekr topped luxury BEV sales in Australia and Malaysia in the January-July period, Lynk & Co led premium PHEV (plug-in hybrid) sales in Tunisia in July, and the Geely EX2 topped Thailand's EV sales in July. The company also launched the Geely Monjaro EM-i D-SUV globally, starting with Egypt.

Given strong overseas growth, Geely raised its 2026 overseas sales target from 640,000 to 920,000 units, aiming for 1 million. In the first half of 2026, Geely reported revenue of 173.6 billion yuan (about $24.5 billion) and core net profit attributable to shareholders of 9.68 billion yuan (about $1.36 billion), reflecting improved scale and profitability.
