Dongfeng's Yijing X9 Boosts Warranty and Compensation as Beijing Deliveries Begin

Dongfeng's Yijing X9, a Huawei-powered family flagship, starts Beijing deliveries with a permanent lifetime warranty and expanded wait-time compensation, as orders for high-spec trims dominate.

Dongfeng Motor's Yijing X9, the first model co-developed with Huawei's Qiankun full-stack technology, held its Beijing delivery ceremony on October 31, marking another milestone in its nationwide rollout across 100 cities. The event follows earlier deliveries in Songshan Lake, Chengdu, Xi'an, Zhengzhou, Hangzhou, and Wuhan, according to the Chinese outlet 电动邦 (EV Partner).

Since its launch on September 24, the Yijing X9 has seen strong order intake, with the two higher-spec trims accounting for 95% of orders. The average transaction price has exceeded 340,000 yuan (about $47,900), placing it in the same bracket as luxury brands like Zeekr and Lexus. The order mix underscores the model's appeal as a high-spec family flagship.

Lifetime Warranty and Compensation Upgrades

On October 27, Dongfeng announced that the Yijing X9's lifetime warranty, previously a limited-time launch offer, would become a permanent standard benefit. This warranty covers the vehicle and its battery and electric drive system, including major components like the range extender and dual-chamber air suspension, with no mileage limit. The benefit transfers to immediate family members upon ownership change. The Yijing X9 is one of only two models in the industry to include dual-chamber air suspension in its lifetime warranty, addressing family buyers' concerns about long-term ownership costs.

To address longer wait times due to unexpectedly high demand for higher trims, the company expanded its compensation policy. Previously limited to customers who locked orders within three days of launch, the compensation now covers all customers who locked orders between September 24 and October 25. These customers receive 1,000 points per day of wait starting from the 29th day after locking, with no cap, and an additional 100 points per day for any further delay. Points are credited within three working days after delivery.

Huawei-Powered Family Flagship

The Yijing X9 is positioned in the 300,000-yuan (about $42,300) segment but offers features comparable to 500,000-yuan (about $70,400) flagships. Standard equipment includes Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5 intelligent driving system and HarmonySpace 6 cockpit, a full-aluminum chassis, intelligent dual-chamber air suspension, and four-wheel steering with 14 degrees of rear-wheel steering. The six-seat layout prioritizes comfort across all rows, and the 'Tianqiong Zhidun' safety architecture is designed for family protection.

Initial buyers are predominantly well-educated professionals, including corporate managers and civil servants, with over 90% being replacement or additional purchases. Many are former owners of traditional luxury brands like BBA (BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi) or Huawei ecosystem users. Families with children are the core customer group, reflecting the model's family-oriented positioning.

Dongfeng is also expanding its service network, with the Beijing customer center built to Huawei's highest standards and adopting Huawei's service protocols. The '1+N' retail structure aims to create a '15-minute smart service circle' for owners.

The Yijing X9's delivery momentum and service upgrades reflect Dongfeng's long-term commitment to the Chinese market, leveraging Huawei's technology to compete in the premium family SUV segment.
