Deepal's October global deliveries hit 32,602 units

Deepal, Changan's EV brand, delivered 32,602 vehicles globally in October, keeping it in the '30,000-plus club' as Chinese automakers report monthly sales results.

Deepal, the electric-vehicle brand under Changan Automobile, delivered 32,602 vehicles globally in October, according to Sina Auto. The result keeps the company in what Chinese media call the "30,000-plus club" of monthly sellers as automakers publish their October sales figures.

The figure covers both battery-electric (BEV) and range-extender (EREV) models sold worldwide. Deepal has been expanding beyond China, with vehicles such as the S07 and L07 now sold in markets including Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries, though the company did not break down the global total by region.

Steady climb

Deepal's October performance continues a pattern of monthly deliveries above 30,000 units. The brand, launched in 2022 as Changan's dedicated EV arm, has leaned on a lineup of mid-size SUVs and sedans priced mainly between 130,000 and 200,000 yuan (about $18,300 to $28,200, Chinese guide prices before taxes and incentives).

The company has not released detailed model-by-model figures for October. Its best-known products include the Deepal S7 SUV and the Deepal SL03 sedan, both offered as BEVs and EREVs. The EREV variants pair a small petrol engine with an electric motor, using the engine only to recharge the battery, a layout popular in China for easing range anxiety.

Deepal's sales have benefited from an aggressive pricing strategy and a push into smaller cities, where Changan's existing dealer network gives it an advantage over younger EV startups. The brand also sells a version of its S05 compact SUV, launched in late 2024, which starts at around 119,900 yuan (about $16,900).

Broader context

Deepal's October result comes as China's EV market heads into the final quarter of the year, a period when automakers typically discount heavily to hit annual targets. Rivals in the same price band include BYD's Song and Yuan series, Geely's Galaxy models, and Leapmotor's C10 and C11 SUVs.

Sina Auto's report did not include year-to-date totals for Deepal. In the first nine months of 2025, the brand delivered roughly 240,000 vehicles, according to earlier company statements, putting it on track for a record year. Changan, which also owns the Avatr premium EV brand, has said it wants Deepal to become its volume EV player, targeting 500,000 annual sales by 2026.

The October figure, while unaudited, suggests Deepal is holding its place in a crowded segment. Whether it can sustain the pace through November and December will depend on how aggressively it discounts during China's year-end sales push, and on how quickly it can add new models to its lineup.
