Bentley's bespoke division Mulliner has revealed three limited-edition Continental GT models inspired by the 16th-century astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus, according to Chinese outlet NetEase Auto. The cars, developed with Bentley dealers, are based on the Continental GT S and Continental GTC S and feature unique paint, interior schemes and celestial-themed detailing.
Design themes and powertrain
Each car corresponds to a celestial body in Copernicus's heliocentric model. The sun-themed convertible uses Manuka orange paint with orange leather and gravity grey accents, plus bronze stone veneer on the dashboard and door waistrails. The Earth-themed coupe wears a bespoke Nebula Blue finish, with Aegean Blue and Imperial Blue leather, complemented by galaxy silver stone veneer and a matte Imperial Blue centre console. The moon-inspired coupe is finished in Moonlight Silver, with whale black leather and ice white accents on seats, headrests, dashboard and door trim.
All three cars share Copernicus's planetary diagram as a design motif, with illuminated patterns of Mercury through Neptune applied to the centre console, quilted panels, puddle lamps and roof storage cover. Each car also comes with bespoke treadplates, a custom key box, Mulliner carpet mats and a unique fragrance, along with pocket squares, silk scarves and a curated Spotify playlist.
Under the skin, the cars retain the Continental GT's performance credentials. They are powered by a hybrid system combining a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with an electric motor, producing 671 bhp (about 500 kW). The package includes an active chassis, carbon-ceramic brakes and a titanium sports exhaust, aimed at enhancing lateral dynamics and braking performance.
Mulliner's approach
Richard Leopold, Bentley's regional director for Europe, Middle East and Africa, said the series reflects Mulliner's collaboration with dealers and the brand's understanding of customer preferences, personalisation options and British handcraftsmanship. The company has not yet announced pricing or detailed limited-sale arrangements for the three cars.
