Baolong Technology, a Chinese automotive supplier, has been recognized for both its technological innovation and its global expansion strategy at the 2026 Golden Ji Awards, an industry event organized by Gasgoo and held in Shanghai on October 23. The company received the "Best Technology Practice Application Award" for its inductive encoder sensors and the "Best Going Global Practice Award" for its overseas manufacturing efforts, according to the Chinese outlet First Electric (D1EV).
Sensor Technology for Humanoid Robots
The award-winning inductive encoder sensor is designed for use in humanoid robot joint modules, marking Baolong's transition from automotive-grade sensors to embodied intelligence. The product has already secured a design win with a customer. Compared with magnetic and optical encoders, the inductive version offers 100% immunity to magnetic interference, eliminating the need for additional shielding and saving 15% of the internal space in the joint module. It maintains signal attenuation of less than 0.5% in environments with oil, dust, and vibration, and its thickness is only one-third that of traditional solutions. The sensor enables joint modules to achieve a power density exceeding 8 kW per kilogram, with a repeat positioning accuracy of ±10 arc-seconds and signal delay under 1 millisecond. Its linearity error remains within 0.05% of full scale across temperatures from -40°C to 150°C, outperforming conventional encoders in overall performance.
Global Manufacturing Push
The "Best Going Global Practice Award" honors companies that excel in overseas market expansion, brand building, technological innovation, and management operations, contributing to the internationalization of the automotive industry. Baolong began its overseas operations more than 20 years ago, engaging in acquisitions, setting up sales offices, R&D centers, and production parks abroad. Now entering what it calls "Globalization 2.0," the company is focusing on building overseas production capacity. In 2026, its Thailand plant is set to begin mass production, the second phase of its European manufacturing center in Hungary has completed factory construction and production line commissioning, and its U.S. TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) factory has finished structural work and equipment installation. Baolong plans to establish factories in more countries, building a global production network that follows customers and ensures full-region delivery capability. The company also aims to bring its three decades of supply chain experience to overseas markets, cultivating local partners and creating resilient, secure local supply chains.
Baolong's dual focus on technology and globalization positions it to continue serving global customers with its "Baolong Intelligent Manufacturing" products, according to the company. The awards ceremony, part of the eighth Golden Ji Awards, shifted its focus from individual technologies to the broader ability of Chinese solutions to achieve industrial implementation and go global.
