Avatr launched the 07L Max battery-electric (BEV) SUV in China on October 29, with a guide price of 229,900 yuan (about $32,400) before taxes and incentives. Customers who place orders before November 30 can get a limited-time price of 215,900 yuan (about $30,400), according to Chinese EV outlet 电动邦 (Dian Dong Bang).
The 07L Max is the entry point of the 07L pure-electric lineup, which also includes versions at 249,900 yuan (about $35,200) and 279,900 yuan (about $39,400). Avatr positioned the Max as a "smart, beautiful, large five-seat luxury SUV," and its key differentiator is standard-fit advanced driver assistance hardware: one 896-line image-grade lidar, three 4D millimeter-wave radars, 11 high-definition cameras and 12 ultrasonic radars, for 27 sensing units in total.
ADAS as the headline feature
On the software side, the 07L Max runs Huawei's ADS 5, built on the WEWA 2.0 architecture, with a promised curb-to-curb connected driving experience. Avatr said its own research shows more than 40% of potential 07L buyers want top-tier assisted-driving specs from the start, so the Max makes the lidar and the high-level ADS package standard rather than optional.
The cabin features a 35.4-inch 4K panoramic display spanning the dashboard, flanked by electronic side-mirror screens, plus a 15.6-inch central touchscreen and an electronic interior mirror, for five screens in total. The HarmonyOS cockpit has been upgraded to the MoLA 2.0 architecture, covering voice control, app ecosystem and vehicle-to-home connectivity. Interior soft-touch materials cover more than 10 square meters, the front seats use a 13-layer construction, the passenger seat offers a zero-gravity function with dual 120-degree recline, and the rear backrest can be adjusted electrically to 130 degrees. The zero-gravity passenger seat was originally an option but is included free as a launch promotion.
Range and charging
The 07L Max has a CLTC range of 725 kilometers (about 450 miles), which translates to roughly 580-615 km (360-382 miles) on the more conservative WLTP cycle (est.). On an 800-volt architecture, it can charge from 30% to 80% in under 10 minutes, Avatr said.
Safety equipment includes the CAS 5.0 all-around collision prevention system, a steel-aluminum hybrid cage body with more than 90% high-strength, hot-formed steel and aluminum in the white body, nine airbags, and compliance with both C-NCAP and E-NCAP five-star standards. The battery uses CATL lithium iron phosphate cells, with Avatr claiming a defect rate of one in a billion per cell and stressing that cells are not mixed or "blind-boxed."
The 07L Max measures 4,910 mm long, 1,980 mm wide with a 2,990 mm wheelbase, placing it in the mid-to-large SUV segment. Avatr highlights flexible interior space: the front seats can fold flat to form a 2-meter lounge, the rear seats fold to create a 3-square-meter sleeping area, and the cargo area can hold 12 20-inch suitcases with the seats down. There are 24 storage compartments plus a roof rack.
Avatr's strategy with the 07L Max is clear: bundle the 896-line lidar, Huawei ADS 5, generous space and comfort features at 229,900 yuan, then use the limited-time offer to lower the effective price to 215,900 yuan. The trade-off is that air suspension and other advanced chassis features are reserved for higher trims. For family buyers who want assisted driving sorted from day one, the November 30 deadline gives a clear decision point, according to 电动邦.
