Avatr, the premium EV brand backed by Changan and Huawei, has launched the 07L Max, a new battery-electric SUV, in China. The model carries a Chinese guide price of 229,900 yuan (about $32,400) before taxes and incentives, but a limited-time offer brings it down to 215,900 yuan (about $30,400). The launch was reported by NetEase Auto on October 29.
Huawei tech and CATL battery
The 07L Max is equipped with Huawei's Qiankun 896-line image-grade lidar and the Huawei Qiankun ADS 5 advanced driver assistance system, which supports city and highway navigation. The SUV also comes standard with a CATL battery pack. The vehicle features 27 high-perception sensors for a 360-degree redundant sensing network, enabling "parking lot to parking lot" assisted driving, according to the company.
Inside, the cabin showcases a 35.4-inch 4K OLED panoramic screen that spans the dashboard, flanked by two 6.7-inch displays for the electronic side mirrors. A 15.6-inch Huawei smart screen and a 9-inch electronic rearview mirror complete a five-screen setup. The interior uses soft-touch materials covering over 10 square meters, with front seats that recline to form a 2-meter chaise lounge, and a rear seat that folds flat to create a 3-square-meter bed area.
Safety and comfort features
The 07L Max is built to meet both China's C-NCAP and Europe's E-NCAP five-star safety standards, with a steel-aluminum hybrid cage structure and nine airbags. The CATL battery is claimed to have a defect rate of one in a billion cells, with no risk of fire or thermal runaway. The cabin uses infant-grade materials for a "mother-and-child" healthy environment.
Avatr is offering nine limited-time purchase benefits for orders placed by November 30, 2026, including a 4,000 yuan cash discount, a 10,000 yuan purchase tax subsidy, and a 10,000 yuan trade-in allowance for existing Avatr owners. Other perks include a 5-year zero-interest financing plan valued at 23,920 yuan, a 21,000 yuan voucher for the ADS Max feature package, and a free upgrade to a zero-gravity passenger seat worth 10,000 yuan.
The Avatr 07L Max measures 4,910 mm long, 1,980 mm wide, and 1,650 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,990 mm. It offers up to 12 20-inch suitcases of cargo space in the front and rear trunks, and a maximum load length of 2.89 meters with the right rear seat folded.
