Aito M8 opens reservations with three trims, prices from 389,800 yuan

Aito, the Huawei-backed brand, has opened configuration selection for its new M8 SUV, offering Max, Max+ and Ultra trims priced from 389,800 yuan (about $54,900) before taxes and incentives. The model features Huawei's 800V architecture, ADS 5 driver assistance and optional rear-wheel steering, with sales starting November 13.

Aito, the electric-vehicle brand co-developed by Huawei and Seres, has revealed the full configuration lineup for its new M8 SUV, opening configuration selection across three trims effective immediately. The Max, Max+ and Ultra versions start at 389,800 yuan (about $54,900), 409,800 yuan (about $57,700) and 459,800 yuan (about $64,800) respectively, all Chinese guide prices before taxes and incentives. The M8 goes on sale November 13, according to NetEase Auto.

Three trims, three priorities

The M8 is built on Huawei's new Tuning platform and features the brand's 4D omnidirectional fusion sensing system with four lidar units, plus an L3-ready architecture for future autonomous driving. All versions come with Huawei's 800V high-voltage powertrain architecture and the Jujing battery platform, with the extended-range variants using a 56 kWh lithium iron phosphate pack.

The entry Max trim focuses on daily family use, with a single-motor rear-drive layout for the range-extender version. It includes a triple-screen cockpit, gesture control, zero-gravity driver's seat, dual vanity mirrors, a smart fragrance system and a temperature-controlled cooler box. The Max runs Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5 driver assistance system, which supports full-scenario assisted driving including urban NOA (city advanced driver assistance).

The mid-level Max+ adds a dual-motor all-wheel-drive option for the range-extender version and introduces a 100 kWh ternary lithium battery for the pure-electric variant, available with either rear-drive or all-wheel drive. Six-seat versions gain a zero-gravity seat for the second-row right side. Optional equipment includes ±8-degree rear-wheel steering, a 21-inch 4K entertainment screen, a front passenger zero-gravity seat and powered doors. Buyers can also opt for a larger 75.4 kWh battery in the range-extender version or a 120 kWh pack in the electric version.

Flagship spec for the Ultra

The top Ultra trim adds zero-gravity seats for the driver, front passenger and second-row right side, a 21-inch 4K eye-care entertainment screen and a reading light designed for children. It comes with powered doors as standard, a million-pixel adaptive projector headlight and Huawei's YueZhang premium audio system. The Ultra also includes ±8-degree rear-wheel steering as standard, which Aito says improves maneuverability in tight spaces such as residential driveways and underground parking garages.

Powertrain choices mirror the Max+ range: the range-extender version pairs the 56 kWh LFP battery with dual-motor all-wheel drive, while the electric version upgrades to a 120 kWh ternary lithium pack with rear-drive or all-wheel drive options. Optional extras include illuminated side steps, 21-inch wheels and, for the electric version, the projector headlight.

Reservations opened October 30, with a 5,000 yuan deposit credited as 10,000 yuan toward the final purchase price. Delivery priority follows payment order, and test-drive vehicles are arriving at dealerships from October 30. Aito has not yet published range figures for the M8, so no CLTC or WLTP estimates are available at this stage.
