Zongheng, the luxury off-road brand under Chinese automaker GAC, launched the 2027 G700 globally at an event in Beijing's Shougang Park on September 29. The flagship SUV is available in five trims, starting at 304,900 yuan (about $42,900) before taxes and incentives, according to Gasgoo.
Hybrid powertrain and off-road credentials
The G700 is positioned as a full-domain luxury off-road SUV. It is powered by GAC's Kunpeng hybrid system, which combines a combustion engine with electric drive. The vehicle comes standard with three locking differentials, an integrated frame, and an XWD-S fully automatic intelligent four-wheel-drive system. It also features Zongheng's off-road driving modes, including X+18 and Zongheng Conquest mode.
On the technology front, the G700 integrates Huawei's Qiankun ADAS (advanced driver assistance system), a smart cockpit with Doubao large language model, dual zero-gravity seats, a 20-speaker Lexicon audio system, 64-color ambient lighting, and adaptive air suspension with continuously variable damping.
Zongheng also highlighted the vehicle's amphibious capability, noting that the brand has completed river crossings and rescue demonstrations. The company issued emergency navigation experience certification to the first batch of owners, referencing tests that included crossing the Yangtze River and rescue operations on the Min River.
Global sales and market expansion
Liu Yong, deputy general manager of Zongheng's domestic marketing center, said the G700 has sold more than 30,000 units globally in 11 months since launch. The model has achieved the top sales position among Chinese luxury SUVs in eight countries, including Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Mexico.
Zongheng also announced a user co-creation program called "Zongheng Realm," which will focus on public welfare, user engagement, and exploration experiences. Activities include border route expeditions, ecological protection in Hoh Xil, desertification control along the Yellow River, and a snow leopard conservation project.
The G700 has also competed in the Taklimakan Rally and climbed Bilutu Peak, according to earlier reports cited by Gasgoo.
