Yoke Innovation unveils DFR safety model and overseas BamBam cabin assistant at InCabin Europe

Chinese ADAS and cabin tech supplier Yoke Innovation debuted its Driver Functional Readiness safety assessment model and the European version of its BamBam cabin AI assistant at InCabin Europe 2026 in Barcelona, targeting stricter E-NCAP rules and growing cabin experience demand.

Chinese automotive technology supplier Yoke Innovation (2431.HK) made its debut at InCabin Europe 2026 in Barcelona on September 22, unveiling a new safety assessment model called Driver Functional Readiness (DFR) and demonstrating the overseas version of its BamBam cabin AI assistant. The company, which supplies both assisted-driving and intelligent-cabin systems, said the showcase underlined its push into the European market, according to Chinese outlet D1EV.

DFR is designed to move beyond traditional driver monitoring systems (DMS), which typically rely on surface cues such as eye closure or yawning. Yoke Innovation said DFR integrates multiple inputs - including alertness, cognitive load, sustained attention and distraction behaviour - to assess a driver's actual ability to safely control the vehicle. The system outputs a 0-3 level intervention strategy, aiming to redefine how a driver's readiness to take over is judged.

The launch comes as European safety regulations tighten, with E-NCAP 2026 setting higher standards for occupant protection. Yoke Innovation said it has already adapted its solutions to meet the 2026 E-NCAP requirements and that related products are in the deployment phase. Using a fusion of vision and radar, the company said it can support Child Presence Detection (CPD) across forward-facing and rear-facing child seats.

BamBam goes local for Europe

Beyond safety, Yoke Innovation showcased the European-localised version of BamBam, its cabin large-model assistant. Unlike conventional voice assistants, BamBam uses in-cabin perception and large-model capabilities to recognise occupant status and autonomously execute complex tasks, the company said. In a live demonstration at the show, the system handled scenarios such as replying to emails, booking hotels and flights, controlling smart home devices remotely, and providing interactive entertainment.

The overseas version adds a new function based on driver gaze: BamBam can identify and interact with targets outside the vehicle in the driver's field of view, such as providing information about buildings along the route. Yoke Innovation said the assistant will continue to evolve with vision-language model (VLM) technology, moving from user-directed commands to proactive service delivery.

The company also introduced a driver drunk-driving detection solution at the event. It builds a baseline of a driver's sober behaviour, then compares eye movements, head posture and vehicle CAN bus data against that baseline to identify alcohol-induced impairment.

Full-stack products and global expansion

Yoke Innovation also displayed its full product line at InCabin Europe, including the iPilot 4 Lite assisted-driving domain controller and the iCabin 1X DMS integrated unit. The company said it has signed mass-production cooperation agreements with more than 40 automakers as of the first half of this year. Its mature products, such as the iCabin 1 series DMS hardware-and-software package, are already fitted on export models sold to the European Union, Australia, Mexico, Singapore, South Korea, Dubai and Turkey.

While deepening its European presence, Yoke Innovation said it is also expanding into emerging markets such as India, and is now directly supplying full-stack solutions to overseas Tier 1 suppliers. The company said its strategy for Europe centres on regulatory compliance, localisation and mass-production readiness.
