Xpeng opens AI engineering platform to global partners at Paris summit

At the Paris Motor Show, Xpeng CEO He Xiaopeng unveiled XPENG AI ENGINEERING, opening its smart-vehicle technology and physical-AI ecosystem to global partners, with plans for robotaxi services in Europe and humanoid robot production by 2026.

At the 2026 Paris International Motor Show, Xpeng chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng delivered a keynote at the Paris Automotive Summit as the only Chinese carmaker CEO invited to speak, according to Gasgoo. He introduced the company's smart-vehicle solutions business, XPENG AI ENGINEERING, and announced that Xpeng will open its intelligent vehicle technology and physical-AI ecosystem to global partners.

The smart-vehicle offering spans full-vehicle platforms, modular technologies, and toolchains. The platform architecture covers both vehicle and electronic/electrical (E/E) architecture, with bandwidth supporting vehicles from compact to large sizes, improving parts reuse. The E/E architecture uses 10-gigabit Ethernet, boosting in-vehicle data transmission speed by 33 times and supporting steer-by-wire and safety redundancy designed for L3 autonomous driving.

Modular tech and toolchains

Modular technologies include intelligent driving, AI BOX, chips, batteries, and electric drive systems. These feature the Turing AI intelligent driving system based on the second-generation VLA (vision-language-action) large model, the Turing AI chip, an 8C ultra-fast charging battery, and 15-minute over-the-air (OTA) full-vehicle updates. The AI BOX can run a 300-billion-parameter mixture-of-experts (MoE) large model. The 8C battery can charge from 10% to 80% in 8 minutes.

The toolchain covers calibration, end-of-line (EOL) testing, and AI diagnostics, reducing per-vehicle cumulative testing time by 41 minutes and cutting annual production-line electrical inspection operating costs by 95%.

Xpeng's physical AI ecosystem includes humanoid robots, robotaxis, flying cars, the Turing AI chip, and a physical-world foundation model. Xpeng's NGP (navigation-guided pilot) has begun large-scale public testing in Europe for the first time, with plans to gradually deliver to global customers starting in 2027. The humanoid robot is slated for mass production by the end of 2026, with deliveries in the first half of 2027. Flying car orders exceed 7,000 units. Xpeng is in talks with multiple European mobility platforms for robotaxi services, which will operate under the Chinese name Xiaopeng Youyou and the English name XPENGYOYO.

The announcement signals Xpeng's ambition to become a technology supplier as well as a carmaker, leveraging its engineering expertise to expand beyond vehicle sales into AI-driven mobility and robotics.
