Dongfeng's Xinghai brand has launched the V6, a midsize SUV equipped with Huawei's Qiankun ADS SE driver assistance system, according to NetEase Auto. The model is available in three trims, with a launch guidance price range of 104,900 to 124,900 yuan (about $14,800 to $17,600). During the launch period, buyers can access discounted prices of 99,900 to 119,900 yuan (about $14,100 to $16,900). These are Chinese guide prices before taxes and incentives.
The V6 is positioned as a large six- or seven-seat SUV, with dimensions of 4,835 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width, and 1,755 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 2,900 mm. The cabin offers a 2+2+2 six-seat layout or a seven-seat option, with a claimed interior space efficiency of 89.7%. The second-row seats slide up to 220 mm, and third-row legroom is 810 mm. When the third row is folded flat, the cargo area expands from 513 liters (enough for six 20-inch suitcases) to 1,630 liters, and there is a 70-liter front trunk.
Huawei ADS SE and powertrain
The Xinghai V6 is the latest model to adopt Huawei's Qiankun ADS SE, a driver assistance package that uses 10 cameras, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and three millimeter-wave radars. It includes city lane cruise assist with full-speed adaptive following, anti-cut-in logic, active obstacle avoidance, and traffic light recognition. On highways, the navigation-guided assist (NCA) can handle speed control, overtaking, ramp entry and exit, and obstacle avoidance. The system also supports smart parking, remote parking, memory parking, and valet parking, covering over 100 parking scenarios.
Power comes from a single rear-mounted electric motor producing 135 kW (181 hp) and 260 Nm of torque. Two battery options are offered: a 45.5 kWh pack with a CLTC range of 400 km, and a 60.5 kWh pack with a CLTC range of 510 km. The larger pack supports DC fast charging from 30% to 80% in 26 minutes and provides 6.6 kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) discharge for camping or emergency use. The CLTC figures are roughly 15-20% more optimistic than WLTP, so the real-world ranges are likely around 340 km and 430 km (est.).
Safety and features
The V6 features a reinforced body with 76% high-strength steel, a battery protection plate made of 1,080 MPa steel, and a CAS 5.0 active safety system. Dongfeng says the model was tested with over 518 test vehicles and more than 2.8 million kilometers of real-world testing, including high-temperature trials in Turpan, Xinjiang. The battery management system monitors the pack 24/7, and doors unlock automatically within 0.5 seconds after a collision.
Inside, the V6 offers S-shaped ergonomic seats with 15 mm thick padding, a first-row backrest that reclines up to 155 degrees, and a second row that reclines to 145 degrees. It also includes a third-row independent air conditioning, child-friendly interior materials, and 3.5 mm laminated glass for noise insulation. The launch package includes a 666 yuan deposit that unlocks a 5,000 yuan trade-in subsidy or 3-year zero-interest financing, a free upgrade to the ADS high-end function package worth 5,000 yuan, a lifetime warranty on the battery, motor, and electronic control for the first owner, and lifetime basic connectivity with three years of unlimited in-car entertainment data.
The Xinghai V6 enters a competitive segment in China, where midsize electric SUVs with advanced driver assistance are increasingly common. By pairing Huawei's ADS SE with a large interior and aggressive pricing, Dongfeng aims to attract family buyers looking for a tech-forward electric vehicle.
