Voyah Zhuiguang S sets Guinness record for most donuts by an EV in one minute

Voyah's Zhuiguang S SUV completed 12 donut spins in 60 seconds on unmodified production tires, setting a Guinness World Record, and also performed a driverless drift on a high-altitude platform.

Chinese automaker Voyah has set a Guinness World Record with its Zhuiguang S electric SUV, completing the most donut spins by an EV in one minute. The unmodified production vehicle achieved 12 circles in 60 seconds on a concrete surface, using factory tires and standard tire pressure, according to PCauto.

Record-breaking stunts

The test required the vehicle to maintain a continuous circular drift for a full minute, subjecting it to sustained lateral forces. As a mid-to-large SUV, the Zhuiguang S has a relatively high center of gravity, and the high friction of the concrete surface put significant stress on the chassis response, torque distribution, and body rigidity.

Voyah credits several technologies for the feat: the Magic Carpet air suspension adapts body posture, the R-EPS power steering keeps control latency under 0.1 seconds, and the 800V high-voltage platform ensures sustained power delivery. The LFC super rear-drive technology dynamically adjusts wheel braking to reduce the risk of losing control, while the body's torsional rigidity of 48,415 N·m/deg helps resist deformation under extreme lateral loads.

On the same day, the Zhuiguang S also completed another extreme test: an unmanned drift on an 865-meter-high platform using its intelligent driver assistance system. The entire process was filmed in real time without CGI, making it a world first for a production vehicle. In August, the model had already completed a 360-degree loop inside a tunnel.

From stunt to safety

Voyah says the performance validated in these extreme tests translates into everyday safety reserves, supporting scenarios like sudden obstacle avoidance, wet roads, and high-speed emergency lane changes.

The Zhuiguang S is positioned as a flagship electric SUV for Voyah, a brand under Dongfeng Motor. While no pricing was disclosed in the report, the model is expected to compete in China's premium EV segment.
