Voyah Zhuiguang S sets Guinness drift record, first to drift unmanned at 865 meters

Voyah's Zhuiguang S SUV set a Guinness World Record for most circular drifts in a minute and became the first car to drift unmanned at 865 meters, showcasing its chassis and torque-vectoring tech.

Chinese premium EV brand Voyah has put its Zhuiguang S SUV through an unusual publicity stunt: on September 28, the unmodified production car set a Guinness World Record for the most circular drifts completed in one minute, then became the first vehicle ever to drift unmanned at an altitude of 865 meters, according to Chinese outlet D1EV.

Record run on stock tires

The record attempt required the mid-size SUV to keep circling for 60 seconds under sustained lateral forces, a tougher task than a typical drift because of its higher center of gravity. The challenge took place on concrete, where high tire grip transmits strong sideways loads to the chassis, testing suspension response and torque distribution. The car completed the run on factory tires at factory pressures, with no modifications.

Voyah credits a combination of technologies for the result: its 'Huju' intelligent chassis with magic-carpet air suspension that pre-adjusts body姿态, a rear-wheel steering system with control lag under 0.1 seconds, an 800V electrical architecture for consistent power delivery, and its LFC (Lateral Force Control) rear-drive technology that dynamically distributes braking force to prevent loss of control. The body's torsional stiffness of 48,415 N·m/deg helps keep the chassis stable under extreme lateral load.

From stunt to safety

While the record is a marketing feat, Voyah says the performance validated in these extreme conditions translates into real-world safety margins, aiding drivers in emergency avoidance, wet-road driving, and high-speed lane changes. The brand, which positions itself as a high-end Chinese EV maker, argues that the achievement helps close the gap with foreign luxury brands that have long dominated driving dynamics, marking a shift from following to leading in automotive technology.
