Stelato G9 2026: Huawei-backed hardcore SUV launches from 429,800 yuan

The 2026 Stelato G9, Huawei's first tech-luxury hardcore SUV under the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance, is now on sale in China with 10 variants, priced from 429,800 to 549,800 yuan. It features the Huawei Tuling all-terrain platform, ADS 5 driver assistance, and both EREV and BEV powertrains.

Huawei's Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance has launched the 2026 Stelato G9, its first tech-luxury hardcore SUV, in China. According to NetEase Auto, the model is available in 10 variants combining range-extender (EREV) and battery-electric (BEV) powertrains with five- and six-seat layouts, priced from 429,800 to 549,800 yuan (about $60,500 to $77,400) as Chinese guide prices before taxes and incentives.

The G9 adopts a boxy, rugged design with vertical dual-ring headlights and a full-width star-tail light bar. Ultra+ trims add dual-pixel full-color DLP projector headlights with dynamic width-indicating light carpet, rain-fog adaptive dimming, and night risk alerts. A side-hinged tailgate and optional exterior storage box or tow hook cater to outdoor use. Five paint colors are offered, with three requiring a 7,000 yuan (about $986) surcharge.

Powertrain and off-road capability

Both powertrains use Huawei's 800V high-voltage battery platform 3.0 with dual-motor all-wheel drive. The EREV version pairs a 1.5T engine (118 kW) with electric motors producing 437 kW (about 586 hp) and 658 N·m, powered by either a 56 kWh LFP or 75.4 kWh ternary battery, offering CLTC electric-only ranges of 310 km (about 264 km WLTP est.), 400 km, or 405 km. The BEV version, with a 120 kWh ternary battery, delivers 437 kW and 727 N·m, with CLTC ranges of 701 km or 728 km. The G9 rides on Huawei's Tuling all-terrain platform with dual-chamber air suspension and dual-valve continuously variable dampers.

The G9 is equipped with 38 sensors, including one 896-line dual-optical-path image-level LiDAR and three solid-state LiDARs, running Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5 system. It is the first luxury hardcore SUV to receive a Beijing L3 autonomous driving road-test permit for speeds up to 120 km/h, according to NetEase Auto.

Which variant to choose

NetEase Auto recommends the Max+ EREV six-seat version as the best value. It features 2-2-2 seating with second-row independent seats offering fore-aft, recline, and lumbar adjustment, optional zero-gravity seats, and heated third-row seats. The cabin includes a triple-screen setup, AR-HUD, and a 25-speaker Huawei Yuexiang audio system.

The higher Ultra and Ultra+ trims add limited extras like stabilizer bar disconnect, cabin fragrance, active side bolster adjustment, and satellite communication, but at price premiums of 50,000 to 60,000 yuan (about $7,000 to $8,500) that NetEase Auto deems poor value. BEV versions are not recommended due to charging convenience and off-road suitability concerns.
