SAIC-GM-Wuling global sales top 1.06 million in first nine months of 2026

SAIC-GM-Wuling sold over 1.058 million vehicles globally in the first three quarters of 2026, with NEV sales exceeding 569,000 units, according to Gasgoo.

SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) reported global sales of 1,058,169 vehicles for the first nine months of 2026, according to Gasgoo. The joint venture, based in Liuzhou, Guangxi, said new-energy vehicle (NEV) sales surpassed 569,000 units, while overseas sales exceeded 282,000 units or sets. Cumulative global NEV sales have now passed 4 million, and overseas cumulative sales have topped 1.6 million units or sets.

Key models and production push

Among its key models, the Huajing S sedan saw actual sales exceed 7,400 units in September, marking five consecutive months of growth. On the first day of the National Day holiday, SGMW's GSEV (Global Small Electric Vehicle) lineup sold over 1,000 units, the Bingo family nearly 900 units, and the Huajing S and Starlight L sold 293 and 192 units respectively.

To meet strong demand, SGMW kept its production lines running at high speed during the holiday. The Baojun base handles manufacturing for the Huajing S and Starlight L, while Saike Technology ensures supply of batteries and electric drive units. The Hexi base is ramping up production of new red-badge and silver-badge models.

Sales strategy and incentives

On the marketing side, SGMW's product marketing center coordinated with regional teams and dealers to capitalize on the Golden Week sales window. Activities included local auto shows, mall displays, group purchasing events, and live-streaming sessions to drive conversions.

For the fourth quarter, SGMW introduced special incentives, including a 100 yuan (about $14) per day attendance bonus for frontline staff working from October 4 to 7, paid directly to their salary cards. The company's union also arranged supplies and meals to support workers during the holiday.

The company is targeting a strong finish to the year, with all teams focused on meeting full-year sales targets.
