Qijing, a new brand under GAC, launched its first model, the GX7, on September 23. The mid-to-large SUV is available in three versions: Ultra, Ultra dual-motor all-wheel drive, and Ultra tri-motor all-wheel drive. Guide prices before taxes and incentives are 239,900 yuan, 259,900 yuan, and 301,900 yuan (about $33,790, $36,610, and $42,520), with limited-time promotional prices of 229,900 yuan, 249,900 yuan, and 291,900 yuan ($32,380, $35,200, and $41,110).
The GX7 is Qijing's first SUV and is positioned as a family-oriented EREV (range-extender electric vehicle). It features a 20-second one-touch flat bed, an architecture ready for L3 autonomous driving, and a smart cabin, aiming to explore space and intelligence in large SUVs.
Space and comfort
The GX7 measures 5,099 mm long, 2,006 mm wide, and 1,750 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,070 mm. Qijing claims an industry-first 20-second one-touch flat bed, achieved through a four-fold seat design, multi-link lifting mechanism, and foldable headrests, creating a 180-degree flat space. The bed includes storage, bedside tables, charging ports, lighting, 32-point massage, and seat ventilation and heating. The vehicle supports over 12 space modes for scenarios like napping, movie watching, childcare, and camping.
All versions come with an architecture designed for L3 autonomous driving, with redundant systems for power, steering, braking, communication, positioning, computing, perception, and interaction. The GX7 is equipped with four lidar units, including one 896-line dual-optical-path image-grade lidar, five 4D millimeter-wave radars, and a total of 38 perception sensors. It runs Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5, supporting parking space-to-space 3.0 and smart parking. Features like narrow-road assistance and gesture-based parking are included. Safety is enhanced by a cage body with 90.3% high-strength steel and aluminum, a 2200 MPa A-pillar, and 11 airbags as standard.
Powertrain and charging
The GX7 uses a 1.5T range-extender powertrain with three options. The Ultra rear-drive version produces 200 kW (268 hp) and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 7.6 seconds. It has a 52 kWh LFP battery, a CLTC electric range of 340 km (approx. 272-289 km WLTP est.), and a combined range of 1,580 km. The dual-motor AWD version outputs 340 kW (456 hp), does 0-100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, has a 52 kWh battery, a CLTC range of 325 km (approx. 260-276 km WLTP est.), and a combined range of 1,500 km. The tri-motor AWD version delivers 550 kW (738 hp), accelerates in 3.9 seconds, uses a 67 kWh ternary battery, and offers a CLTC range of 385 km (approx. 308-327 km WLTP est.) with a combined range of 1,530 km.
The batteries are from CATL's Xiaoyao series. The tri-motor version uses an 800V architecture with 5C super-fast charging, replenishing 30-80% in about 10 minutes; other versions take about 15 minutes. The battery has 26-layer protection, dual-layer ultra-high-strength steel plates, and thermal-electric separation.
The GX7 rides on Huawei's Qiankun Chitu platform with a six-in-one integrated architecture, featuring an all-aluminum rear H-arm suspension, dual-chamber air suspension, and continuously variable damping. It includes Huawei's seven major automotive intelligent solutions. The cabin debuts HarmonySpace 6, with dual 15.6-inch screens, a 32-inch 2K laser projector, and a 46-inch outdoor screen using magnetic folding lenses. The audio system has 21 speakers with 7.1.4 surround sound. The vehicle features a pet-themed assistant named Qiqi and an AI agent for navigation, car control, and food ordering. AMS in-cabin sensing provides child danger alerts, seat anti-pinch, and child sleep mode.
Qijing is offering limited-time purchase benefits up to 75,000 yuan for orders placed before November 1, 2026, including a 10,000 yuan cash discount, trade-in subsidies, and a discount on the ADS package.
