Puhua and FPT sign AUTOSAR partnership to target global EV software market

Chinese automotive software firm Puhua and Vietnam's FPT have signed a strategic cooperation memorandum to jointly build an AUTOSAR-based software ecosystem and expand into China, Europe and Japan.

Chinese automotive software developer Puhua and Vietnam's FPT have signed a strategic cooperation memorandum in Shanghai, pledging to combine their strengths in car software to build an AUTOSAR-based foundation software ecosystem and jointly explore global markets, according to Gasgoo.

The partnership will leverage Puhua's technical expertise and mass-production experience in AUTOSAR-compliant software, alongside FPT's global engineering services and international customer network, to target key markets including China, Europe and Japan. The two companies will also collaborate on next-generation intelligent systems, covering perception, decision-making, communication, data, validation and execution technologies. An AUTOSAR vehicle software project has already been initiated.

Puhua's AUTOSAR pedigree

Puhua has been developing and industrializing AUTOSAR vehicle software for 18 years, offering full life-cycle toolchains and localized value-added services to automakers and component suppliers. Its product lineup includes the Puhua Lingzhi safe vehicle control operating system (AUTOSAR CP), the Puhua Lingsi intelligent driving operating system (AUTOSAR AP), and complete vehicle software solutions.

AUTOSAR (AUTomotive Open System ARchitecture) is a global standard for automotive software architecture, and the CP (Classic Platform) and AP (Adaptive Platform) variants are widely used in vehicle control and intelligent driving systems respectively.

FPT's global reach

FPT, headquartered in Vietnam, operates in more than 30 countries and regions. The company has two decades of automotive software experience, 18 years of AUTOSAR engineering expertise, and over 1,000 AUTOSAR engineers. In 2025, FPT Group reported total revenue of $2.66 billion, with core business staff exceeding 44,000 globally.

The cooperation comes as the automotive industry shifts toward software-defined vehicles, where the underlying software architecture increasingly determines a vehicle's capabilities and updateability. For Chinese suppliers, partnerships with global engineering firms like FPT offer a route to international markets, while for FPT, access to Puhua's domestic experience could strengthen its position in China's rapidly evolving EV software sector.
