Chinese electric-vehicle maker Nio reported record deliveries for the first nine months of 2026, handing over 300,301 vehicles, a 49.2% jump from the same period last year, according to TechWeb, as reported by Chinese outlet D1EV.
In September 2026 alone, Nio delivered 37,408 vehicles, up 7.7% year-on-year. The core Nio brand contributed 21,318 units, a 55.3% increase, while the Onvo brand delivered 8,763 units and the Firefly brand added 7,327 units, up 26.9%.
Brand-by-brand performance
For the first three quarters, the Nio brand delivered 181,988 vehicles, up 63.4% and setting a new record. Onvo delivered 70,191 units, also a record, and Firefly delivered 48,122 units, a 136.7% surge, marking its best-ever nine-month performance. Cumulative deliveries for Nio Inc. reached 1,297,893 vehicles as of the end of September.
The results highlight Nio's multi-brand strategy, which now spans the premium Nio brand, the family-oriented Onvo, and the compact Firefly. All three brands achieved record quarterly sales, signaling growing traction across different market segments in China.
Outlook
Nio has been expanding its product lineup and battery-swapping infrastructure to support growth. The company's battery-swap stations allow users to exchange depleted batteries for fully charged ones in minutes, a service that differentiates it from many rivals. While the company faces intense competition in China's EV market, its record deliveries suggest strong demand for its vehicles.
The figures were published by TechWeb and reposted by D1EV, a Chinese EV industry news site. Nio has not yet provided a full-year delivery target, but the current pace suggests it could exceed 400,000 vehicles in 2026 if the trend continues.
