Mengshi X700 launches from 219,800 yuan with Huawei ADS5 and air suspension

Mengshi, the off-road brand under Dongfeng, launched its X700 luxury all-terrain SUV at 219,800–279,800 yuan ($31,000–$39,400), featuring Huawei's ADS5 driver assistance, dual-chamber air suspension, and MRC dampers, with deliveries starting immediately.

Mengshi, the off-road brand under Dongfeng Motor, launched its new X700 luxury all-terrain SUV on October 25. The model is the first in the brand's new X series and is positioned as a "luxury smart all-terrain SUV." Four variants are available, with Chinese guide prices from 219,800 to 279,800 yuan (about $31,000 to $39,400) before taxes and incentives. The launch event, themed "Take Your Loved One to the Mountains and Seas," also saw first-batch customer deliveries, meaning the car is available immediately.

The X700 is the first model from the second phase of Mengshi's strategic cooperation with Huawei. It comes equipped with Huawei's ADS5 driver assistance system, the HarmonyOS cockpit, dual-chamber air suspension, and MRC magnetorheological dampers. These features aim to combine luxury comfort, intelligent driving, and professional off-road capability, according to the company.

Pricing and offers

The base price of 219,800 yuan marks a lower entry point for a luxury all-terrain SUV. Customers who place a deposit and lock in their order before November 30 receive an additional 10,000 yuan trade-in benefit, bringing the effective starting price to 209,800 yuan. The company is also offering up to 21,000 yuan in optional equipment discounts and a limited-time gift of technology and comfort features valued at 25,000 yuan. Combined with other purchase benefits, eligible customers can receive total benefits worth up to 65,000 yuan.

The X700 is offered in four trims: a rear-wheel-drive Pro with a 325 km range, a four-wheel-drive Max with a 285 km range, a four-wheel-drive Max+ also with 285 km, and a four-wheel-drive Ultra with 360 km. These figures are based on China's CLTC test cycle, which tends to be about 15-20% more optimistic than the WLTP standard, so real-world range is likely to be lower. For example, the 360 km CLTC figure would translate to roughly 288-306 km under WLTP (est.).

Off-road and smart features

Mengshi emphasizes the X700's versatility, describing it as "one car replacing three"—for daily commuting, family trips, and outdoor adventures. The SUV includes features such as Robo travel photography, an emotion display screen on the tailgate, and an outdoor expansion platform. The company says the model is "more off-road than a family car, and smarter than an off-road vehicle."

At the launch, four "verification officers"—including parenting influencer Nian Gao Mama and off-road expert Han Lu—shared their real-world experiences with the vehicle. Special product recommender Jin Yuzhi discussed a test at an altitude of 4,200 meters in western Sichuan, highlighting the integration of professional off-road capability with intelligent technology.

Mengshi is also expanding its service network. The company said its after-sales network will exceed 200 outlets by 2026 and 350 by 2027, with full coverage planned for regions including Tibet and Xinjiang. Dedicated service stations for self-driving tours are also being introduced.

With a competitive starting price, immediate deliveries, and advanced features like Huawei ADS5 and dual-chamber air suspension, the X700 aims to carve out a niche in China's crowded new-energy SUV market. According to the Chinese outlet 电动邦 (Electric Bang), the model targets buyers who want urban comfort without sacrificing off-road capability.
