Mengshi, the luxury off-road brand under Dongfeng Motor, has revealed the interior of its upcoming X700 SUV, showcasing a cabin designed to blend off-road capability with family comfort. The X700, positioned as a "premium all-terrain SUV," introduces several segment-first features, including a Huawei-developed cockpit system and a flat second-row space intended for camping, according to Chinese outlet 电动邦 (EV Partner).
Huawei-powered smart cockpit
The X700 is the first model in its class to feature the HarmonySpace 6 cockpit, developed by Huawei. This system includes dual 15.6-inch displays with 2.5K resolution and 1,000-nit brightness, paired with a 21-speaker HUAWEI SOUND audio setup delivering 7.1.4-channel surround sound. The cabin also integrates Huawei's XiaoYi AI assistant, which can handle navigation, vehicle controls and conversation simultaneously without requiring sequential voice commands.
A 74-inch augmented-reality head-up display projects route guidance onto the road ahead, reducing the need for drivers to look down. The interior also features a "forest sanctuary" air purification system with dual negative-ion generators, claiming over 99.99% bacteria removal, along with double-glazed windows for noise insulation.
Camping-ready interior and storage
Mengshi highlights the X700's dual 127-degree zero-gravity front seats, which recline with powered leg rests, and a second row that folds fully flat to create a 2.77-cubic-metre space with a 2,050mm-long bed and 947mm of headroom. The company calls this the only pure-flat second-row camping room in the segment, allowing owners to sleep or rest directly in the vehicle.
The cabin offers 56 storage compartments, including 26 mounting points for accessories, and a 850-litre boot that can hold up to ten 20-inch suitcases. A rear-mounted "wilderness extension table" with a 220V socket and a 7-litre cooler fridge capable of -10°C cooling support outdoor activities.
Design details draw from Mengshi's military heritage, including door handles inspired by firearm contours and a crystal rotary knob with 29 cut facets. Interior colour options include Qingchuan Rice and Canghai Apricot, with wood trim and suede-like materials used throughout.
The X700 is expected to launch with a 68.1 kWh battery pack, according to the report, though full specifications, pricing and range figures have not yet been announced. The model is part of Mengshi's push to redefine the "luxury box" SUV segment in China, combining rugged off-road DNA with premium comfort and smart technology.
