Jetta M6 pre-sale starts at 80,800 yuan, bringing urban NOA below 100,000 yuan

Jetta has opened pre-sales for its M6 electric sedan in China, with prices starting at 80,800 yuan (about $11,400) and the top trim at 99,800 yuan (about $14,100), making urban NOA available in the sub-100,000 yuan segment.

Jetta has opened pre-sales for its first electric sedan, the M6, at an event held at an altitude of about 3,700 meters in Kangding, Sichuan province. The model starts at 80,800 yuan (about $11,400) and tops out at 99,800 yuan (about $14,100) for the 555 Ultra trim, according to Chinese outlet Diandongbang.

The M6, positioned as a "super-comfortable AI electric family sedan," targets young families focused on long-term ownership costs and smart features. Jetta says the car offers B-segment space at an A-segment price, with a 2,820mm wheelbase, 91.3% interior space efficiency, and a 542-liter trunk.

Urban NOA for under 100,000 yuan

The top two trims come with advanced driver assistance hardware including a Horizon Robotics Journey 6M chip, 11 cameras, one millimeter-wave radar, and 12 ultrasonic sensors. The system supports urban NOA (city advanced driver assistance), highway NOA, and smart parking - features typically found in more expensive vehicles.

Jetta claims the M6's AEB (automatic emergency braking) works at speeds from 0 to 130 km/h, and the car achieves an 80.6 km/h moose test result. The battery-electric sedan (BEV) is offered with CLTC ranges of 465 km and 555 km, which would translate to roughly 395-470 km under the more conservative WLTP cycle (est.).

The M6 uses 86% high-strength steel with a maximum strength of 2,000 MPa, and features a torsion rigidity of 38,073 N·m per degree. Jetta's German managing director Dirk Mayer said the car was developed over three years, emphasizing reliability - the brand has over 5.3 million users in China.

Pricing and launch details

Pre-sale pricing for the three trims is: 465 Pro at 80,800 yuan, 555 Max at 90,800 yuan (about $12,800), and 555 Ultra at 99,800 yuan (about $14,100). These are Chinese guide prices before taxes and incentives. Pre-sale benefits include a 1,000 yuan deposit worth 2,000 yuan toward the purchase, a limited run of 600 free color-change wraps, a charging wall box or portable charger, and a 4,000 yuan trade-in subsidy.

The M6 comes standard with a 15.6-inch 2.5K display running Jetta's Yuexing smart cockpit 2.0, which integrates three AI large language models - Doubao, Qwen, and DeepSeek - supporting over 650 voice commands, AI trip planning, and voice cloning. Jetta claims energy consumption of just 10.5 kWh per 100 km, putting electricity costs at about 0.05 yuan per kilometer.

The launch event doubled as a media test drive, with routes covering mountain roads, national highways, and rural paths in the western Sichuan plateau. Jetta said the car's heat pump system operates in temperatures from -40°C to 50°C, and range achievement reached nearly 90% under standard test conditions of 24°C air conditioning and comfort mode.
