Jetour, the SUV brand under Chery, has opened pre-sales for its refreshed Traveller 7 and the new Traveller 7 C-DM plug-in hybrid, according to NetEase Auto. The fuel-powered Traveller 7 is priced from 149,900 yuan (about $21,100) to 179,900 yuan, while the Traveller 7 C-DM, the hybrid variant, ranges from 159,900 yuan (about $22,500) to 179,900 yuan. All prices are Chinese guide prices before taxes and incentives.
The Traveller 7 retains the boxy, hard-edged design language of the Traveller family, but adds a new "Sunshine Gold" paint option and softer details to balance off-road presence with urban refinement. The front features round LED headlights connected by a light bar, with the JETOUR lettering moved higher. The rear keeps the side-hinged tailgate and spare wheel, while the body measures 4,827 mm long, 2,006 mm wide and 1,875 mm tall, with a 2,800 mm wheelbase.
Dual powertrains, shared intelligence
Jetour says the Traveller 7 is the only boxy SUV in its class to offer the same level of advanced driver assistance on both fuel and hybrid versions. The fuel model uses the Falcon 500 ADAS system, while the Traveller 7 C-DM is equipped with Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5 system. Both cover urban congestion, highway cruising and complex parking scenarios, according to the company.
The fuel version pairs a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The C-DM hybrid uses a 1.5-litre turbo engine with three electric motors and a CATL battery pack, delivering a combined output of 575 kW and 835 Nm of torque. It has a CLTC electric-only range of 245 km, which translates to roughly 200-210 km under the more conservative WLTP cycle (est.). Combined range is up to 1,400 km on the CLTC cycle.
Both versions come with an XWD all-wheel-drive system and a one-button off-road mode that automatically manages torque distribution and traction, plus seven selectable driving modes for different terrains.
Comfort and safety upgrades
Inside, the Traveller 7 features a 12-layer "Shuyun" seat with eight-point massage and ten-way electric adjustment, a front passenger seat that reclines flat, and rear seats that fold down to create a two-metre-long sleeping space. A 23-speaker 7.1.4 surround sound system and 256-colour ambient lighting are also included.
Jetour says the body uses 80% high-strength steel, with key areas made from 2,000 MPa ultra-high-strength steel, giving a torsional rigidity of 32,000 Nm per degree. The company also highlighted its "Travel+" ecosystem, which includes more than 3,000 service stations along popular self-driving routes such as the G318 and G219 highways.
The pre-sale marks the first step for the new Traveller 7 as it heads toward formal launch. Jetour, which has been building its travel-oriented brand for eight years, aims to position the model as a versatile choice for city commuting, family trips and off-road adventures.
