Jetour, the SUV brand under Chery, has opened pre-sales for its new Traveler 7 and a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version, the Traveler 7 C-DM, at a launch event in China marking the third anniversary of the Traveler series. The company also announced that the series has surpassed 570,000 cumulative global sales, cementing its position as a leader in the boxy-SUV segment, according to Chinese outlet D1EV.
Pricing and powertrains
The Traveler 7 is priced between 149,900 and 179,900 yuan (about $21,100-$25,300), while the Traveler 7 C-DM ranges from 159,900 to 179,900 yuan (about $22,500-$25,300). These are Chinese guide prices before taxes and incentives. The fuel version is powered by a 2.0TGDI engine paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, while the C-DM variant uses a 1.5TD engine with three electric motors for all-wheel drive, capable of operating in both charged and depleted states.
The C-DM model features a 45.12 kWh battery from CATL, offering a CLTC electric-only range of 251 km (about 156 miles; WLTP est. 201-213 km). Combined range is 1,400 km (about 870 miles), with claimed fuel consumption of 1.08 liters per 100 km. CLTC figures are typically 15-20% more optimistic than WLTP, so the real-world range will be lower.
Technology and design
The Traveler 7 comes with the TOUR OS 3.3 AI cockpit, powered by a Snapdragon 8255 chip, 24 GB RAM, and 256 GB storage, along with a 15.6-inch 2.5K central display. It also features the Horizon Journey 6M chip for advanced driver assistance, enabling highway NOA (navigate on autopilot) and all-scenario parking assistance. The vehicle measures 4,827 mm long, 2,006 mm wide, and 1,875 mm tall, with a 2,800 mm wheelbase.
Jetour, which has sold over 2.51 million vehicles globally across 100 countries, says the Traveler series has helped establish it as a leading player in the boxy-SUV niche. The brand also highlighted its ecosystem of over 10,000 travel accessories, 3,000 service stations, and partnerships with 360 companies for travel-related services.
