Huawei reaffirms support for Aito brand amid new cooperation model

Huawei's Yinwang unit issues a statement pledging continued technical support for the Aito brand, clarifying the new dual-channel sales model and future product plans.

Huawei has issued a public statement reaffirming its commitment to the Aito brand, following the announcement of a new cooperation model between Aito and Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA). The statement, released on September 20 by Huawei's Yinwang unit, addresses concerns from users and the market about the future of Aito cooperation, intelligent technology supply, and user service guarantees.

According to the statement, Seres remains a strategic partner of Huawei, and Huawei will continue to provide solutions and technical support including Qiankun ADAS (advanced driver assistance), Harmony Cockpit, intelligent vehicle control, intelligent vehicle lighting, and intelligent vehicle cloud services. The company pledged to 'support the development of Aito as always' and work with Aito to ensure user service and experience.

Huawei said it will continue to apply its industry-leading intelligent vehicle solutions to Aito and iterate them continuously, enhancing the competitiveness of Aito products and improving the intelligent experience for users. The statement follows earlier remarks by Huawei executive Xu Qinsong, who clarified that Aito remains a core member of HIMA and that the level of Huawei technology in Aito products remains unchanged.

New dual-channel sales model

Under the new cooperation model, Aito will adopt a dual-channel sales approach: Aito will have its own exclusive stores, while Huawei's shared stores will be retained. This move aims to provide users with a more positive high-end intelligent electric product experience and full-cycle, high-quality car ownership services, according to both Huawei and Seres.

Aito, co-designed by Huawei and Seres, currently offers five models: Aito M5, M7, M9, M8, and M6, covering the SUV market from 200,000 to 800,000 yuan (about $28,200 to $112,700, Chinese guide prices before taxes and incentives). The brand plans to expand into sedans, MPVs, and boxy SUVs in the future, strengthening its product matrix and market competitiveness.

The statement comes amid broader industry shifts as Huawei deepens its role in the automotive sector through HIMA, which also includes brands like Stelato and Maextro. The clarification aims to reassure consumers and investors about the stability of the Aito brand's technology and service commitments.
