Geely September sales hit record 292,168 vehicles, up 7% year on year

Geely sold 292,168 vehicles in September, a record for the year, with new-energy sales hitting 190,868 units and exports surging 162% to 106,685. The automaker's January-September total reached 2.24 million units, up 7% year on year.

Geely Automobile sold 292,168 vehicles in September, setting a new monthly record for the year, according to data released by the company on October 1 and reported by Chinese automotive outlet PCauto. The figure represents a 7% increase year on year and an 8% rise from August, marking the seventh consecutive month of double-digit growth in both annual and monthly comparisons.

For the first nine months of 2025, Geely's cumulative sales reached 2,235,481 units, also a record for the period, the report said. The strong performance was driven by robust demand for new-energy vehicles (NEVs) and accelerating overseas shipments.

New-energy and export momentum

Geely's new-energy vehicle sales in September totaled 190,868 units, a single-month record, up 16% from a year earlier and 9% month on month. The category includes battery-electric vehicles (BEVs), plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) and range-extended electric vehicles (EREVs), though the company did not break down the figures by powertrain in its announcement.

Overseas exports reached 106,685 units in September, a 162% surge year on year, marking the fourth consecutive month that exports exceeded 100,000 units. The jump underscores Geely's push into international markets, particularly in Southeast Asia, Latin America and the Middle East, where Chinese automakers have been gaining share.

Brand-by-brand performance

Across its brands, Geely's core Geely marque sold 105,980 units in September, up 5% year on year and 9% month on month. The Galaxy sub-brand, which focuses on new-energy models, delivered 130,497 units, up 8% annually and 10% monthly. Lynk & Co, known for its premium compact crossovers and sedans, sold 18,493 units, up 9% from August.

Zeekr, Geely's premium electric brand, sold 37,216 units in September, a 104% jump year on year. Within Zeekr, the 9X SUV delivered 7,225 units in the month, while the 7X model has now exceeded 10,000 monthly sales for three consecutive months and passed the 200,000 cumulative sales mark, according to PCauto.

The results come as Geely continues to expand its lineup of electric and hybrid vehicles, competing with domestic rivals such as BYD and Changan, as well as international brands in export markets. The company has not yet provided a full-year sales target or guidance for the fourth quarter.
