Geely launches fourth-generation Boyue L from 92,900 yuan with hybrid and lidar-equipped ADAS

Geely's new Boyue L, launched September 24, starts at 92,900 yuan (about $13,100) for the fuel version and 99,900 yuan (about $14,100) for the hybrid, bringing lidar-based ADAS and AI cockpit to the 100,000-yuan compact SUV segment.

Geely has launched the fourth-generation Boyue L compact SUV in China, with prices starting at 92,900 yuan (about $13,100) for the fuel version and 99,900 yuan (about $14,100) for the hybrid, according to NetEase Auto. The new model, which went on sale September 24, marks a major upgrade for the Boyue series, which has sold over 2.45 million units globally across four generations and led China's A-segment fuel SUV sales for 14 consecutive months.

Powertrain and efficiency

The Boyue L is offered with two powertrains. The fuel version uses a new 1.5TD Pro high-output engine producing 148 kW (198 hp) and 315 Nm of torque, with WLTC fuel consumption of 6.69 L/100km. The hybrid version, badged as HEV, combines a 1.5TD engine with a thermal efficiency of 47.26% and a 175 kW electric drive system, delivering a combined system output of 120 kW (161 hp) and 255 Nm. Geely claims the hybrid can run on electric power for over 80% of driving conditions, achieving a WLTC combined fuel consumption of 4.67 L/100km and a combined range exceeding 1,200 km on a full tank and charge. The hybrid accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 7.7 seconds.

Geely says the hybrid's AI-driven energy management adjusts the oil-electric strategy in real time based on temperature, humidity, altitude, and slope, improving overall efficiency by more than 10%. The car also features a CCD variable-damping suspension with a response time under 10 ms, reducing body roll during turns by 40%.

Smart features and pricing

The Boyue L comes with the Qianli Haohan H5 driver assistance system, which includes one lidar, three millimeter-wave radars, 11 cameras, and 12 ultrasonic sensors—27 sensors in total. It supports urban NOA (city advanced driver assistance), highway NOA, and cross-floor automated parking. The AEB system can brake from speeds up to 130 km/h to avoid stationary obstacles, with enhanced detection for nighttime scenarios such as children in oncoming headlights.

Inside, the car features a 15.4-inch 2.5K central touchscreen, a 25.6-inch AR-HUD, and the Flyme Auto 2 system with an AI voice assistant. It supports Apple CarPlay, Carlink, Huawei HiCar, and Flyme Link connectivity. The cabin includes 32 storage spaces, a fold-flat rear seat that creates a bed approximately 1.9 meters long, and a 16-speaker Flyme Sound audio system.

Prices are Chinese guide prices before taxes and incentives. The fuel version ranges from 99,900 to 129,900 yuan (about $14,100 to $18,300), with a limited-time launch price of 92,900 to 122,900 yuan (about $13,100 to $17,300). The hybrid version ranges from 106,900 to 136,900 yuan (about $15,100 to $19,300), with a launch price of 99,900 to 129,900 yuan (about $14,100 to $18,300). Buyers also get seven exclusive benefits until October 31, 2026.

The Boyue L is part of Geely's strategy to bring advanced technology to the mass-market SUV segment, including lidar-based ADAS and hybrid efficiency, traditionally found in higher-priced models. The model aims to challenge the value ceiling of fuel SUVs in China.
