GAC Motor has officially launched the GS7 PHEV in Lebanon, its first plug-in hybrid (PHEV) for the Middle Eastern market, according to PCauto. The unveiling took place at the Sursock Palace in Beirut, with local distributor Bazerji Motors, marking a deepening of a partnership that spans more than a decade.
The GS7 PHEV is positioned as a tech-luxury SUV aimed at families and diverse driving scenarios. It combines a plug-in hybrid powertrain with an intelligent all-wheel-drive system, delivering a maximum combined output of 501 hp (373 kW). The 0-100 km/h sprint takes 5.8 seconds, and the CLTC combined range is 1,020 km (about 634 miles). Note that CLTC figures are typically 15-20% more optimistic than WLTP, so an equivalent WLTP range would be roughly 816-867 km (est.).
Luxury and tech features
The GS7 PHEV features a full-width light bar and AI-powered mood lighting with customizable light shows, a highlight at the launch event. Inside, the cabin offers four individual seats with standard ventilation and massage functions. The second-row seats recline up to 137 degrees and include leg rests. The car also comes with soft-close doors and a 22-speaker audio system.
The plug-in hybrid architecture is designed to handle both daily electric commutes and long-distance travel, addressing range anxiety. GAC says the model fills a gap in its new-energy lineup in Lebanon, part of its broader overseas electrification push.
GAC has been working with Bazerji Motors since entering the Lebanese market, focusing on brand building, market expansion, and customer service. The launch event also included customer recognition and partner awards, celebrating the long-standing cooperation.
Pricing for the GS7 PHEV in Lebanon has not been disclosed. The model is expected to compete with other midsize PHEV SUVs in the region, though GAC has not yet confirmed a local price or delivery timeline.
