Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturer Foton has marked a milestone for its Forland brand, with the 7 millionth vehicle rolling off the line at the company's global innovation center on September 28, 2026. The event also saw the launch of a new autonomous yard logistics solution under the brand name 'Jiezuo', according to PCauto.
Forland, a brand under Foton, has been in operation for 30 years and has now produced 7 million vehicles. The company highlighted that since a brand refresh in 2024, the share of intelligent products has risen to 30%, new energy vehicles (NEVs) account for 20% of sales, and overseas business contributes 10% of total revenue.
Jiezuo: L4 autonomous yard logistics
The new Jiezuo solution is positioned as an intelligent unmanned transfer system for factory and park logistics. It is built on Foton's self-developed F10 intelligent driving platform and uses L4-level autonomous driving technology. The system integrates smart equipment, digital dispatch, and full-lifecycle services to cover four core scenarios: inbound logistics, warehouse transfer, production line delivery, and peak-time coordinated distribution.
The first product under the Jiezuo brand, the T6, uses lidar and cameras for 3D environment perception, with millisecond-level emergency response and dynamic obstacle avoidance. It can connect to production and warehousing systems, break down work orders, and coordinate multiple vehicles for point-to-point delivery. The compact vehicle is designed for narrow spaces and aims to reduce labor and operating costs, with a short payback period, the company said.
At the event, Forland delivered the first batch of Jiezuo T6 units to customers including Haier's logistics arm RRS, Huasheng Rubber, and Foton's multi-purpose vehicle manufacturing center. The company also signed strategic agreements with several logistics firms and supply chain partners to scale up deployment.
A century of Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturing
The 7 millionth vehicle milestone comes as China marks 70 years of independent commercial vehicle manufacturing, the company noted. Forland's journey includes key models such as the BJ1032 light truck (its 280,000th vehicle), the Xiaoka Star V (1 millionth), and the Linghang S1 (6 millionth), each representing a step in the brand's evolution.
Looking ahead, Forland plans to continue developing autonomous driving technology, moving from human-operated to unmanned operations, and is exploring low-altitude economy applications. The company aims to combine ground unmanned vehicles with low-altitude eVTOL (electric vertical take-off and landing) aircraft to create an integrated air-ground solution.
