Dongfeng Peugeot and Dongfeng Citroën have unveiled their 2027-model-year SUV family in China, with prices starting at 139,700 yuan (about $19,700). The three models—the Peugeot 5008, Peugeot 4008 and Citroën C5 Aircross—went on sale on September 23, according to NetEase Auto.
Pricing and launch offers
The 2027 Peugeot 5008 starts at 169,700 yuan (about $23,900), the 2027 Peugeot 4008 at 159,700 yuan (about $22,500), and the 2027 Citroën C5 Aircross at 139,700 yuan (about $19,700). These are Chinese guide prices before taxes and incentives.
To mark the launch, buyers of any of the three models can choose from ten benefits, including a 10,000 yuan cash discount, a two-year zero-interest financing plan, and a trade-in subsidy of up to 10,000 yuan. The total value of the package can reach 48,000 yuan (about $6,760). Owners of 2023, 2025 and 2026 models can also purchase a safety and intelligence option pack valued at over 6,500 yuan (about $916). Two new exterior colors, each worth 3,000 yuan (about $423), are offered free for a limited time at launch.
Updates and features
The 2027 5008 retains its 4,670 mm length, 1,855 mm width and 1,655 mm height, with a 2,840 mm wheelbase. It keeps the 5+2 seating layout, allowing seven passengers when needed. Inside, a new warm sand white color scheme draws inspiration from the Mediterranean coast, and a new ambient lighting system adds a French touch.
All three models receive the Blue-i 4.0 connected car system, which now supports AI voice control and AR navigation. The system can handle tasks like finding a route, adjusting the air conditioning, or playing children's songs by voice. A new cloud-based infotainment system supports over 200 apps, and a digital key lets owners remotely cool or heat the cabin before getting in, or share access with family members via a smartphone app.
The 4008 also gains the same connectivity upgrades, plus new exterior and interior colors: a silver finish inspired by the Seine River and an orange interior theme referencing the Palace of Fontainebleau. The cabin uses a water-based PU material that is gentle on skin. A black-and-white two-tone package is available on the 4008 360THP Max version, adding a black roof and black exterior mirrors.
Mechanically, the SUVs are powered by a twin-scroll turbo engine mated to an Aisin eight-speed automatic gearbox, with chassis tuning by the brand's CLDR team. The 5008 and 4008 come with a 360-degree camera and transparent chassis view, and the vehicles carry SGS Gold Label and ASL health certifications.
The launch comes as Dongfeng's joint-venture brands try to defend their position in China's crowded SUV market, where domestic rivals such as BYD and Geely have been aggressive with pricing and technology. The new models aim to combine French design heritage with digital features that appeal to family buyers.
