Dongfeng Peugeot and Dongfeng Citroen, the joint-venture brands under Dongfeng Motor, have refreshed their SUV family with three 2027-model-year vehicles, launched on September 23 in China. The new lineup includes the Peugeot 5008, Peugeot 4008, and Citroen C5 Aircross, with prices starting at 169,700 yuan (about $23,900), 159,700 yuan (about $22,500), and 139,700 yuan (about $19,700) respectively. These are Chinese guide prices before taxes and incentives.
To attract buyers, the brands are offering a package of ten benefits valued at up to 48,000 yuan, including a 10,000 yuan cash discount, a two-year zero-interest financing plan, and a trade-in subsidy of up to 10,000 yuan. Additionally, owners of previous model years (2023, 2025, and 2026) can purchase a safety and intelligence package worth over 6,500 yuan. Two new exterior colors, each valued at 3,000 yuan, are available free of charge for a limited time at launch.
Tech and Comfort Upgrades
The 2027 Peugeot 5008, positioned as a family SUV, features a 5+2 flexible seating layout that accommodates seven passengers when needed. It is powered by a turbocharged engine paired with an Aisin 8-speed automatic transmission, and includes a 360-degree panoramic camera with transparent chassis view. The cabin now offers a new warm sand white interior option and ambient lighting.
Both the 5008 and 4008 receive the Blue-i 4.0 infotainment system, which adds AI voice control and AR navigation. A new cloud-based car system supports over 200 apps, and the 4008 gains a digital key. The 4008 also boasts a class-leading 5.4-meter turning radius and an enhanced Grip Control multi-terrain system, with a new silver exterior color and orange interior option.
The Citroen C5 Aircross focuses on comfort, featuring PHC adaptive hydraulic suspension and a master-grade chassis tuning. It includes front seat heating and an air quality monitoring system. The 2027 model upgrades to the C-CONNECT 4.0 system with AR navigation and a digital key, plus a remote start function via smartphone. A new iris purple exterior color and Louvre white interior are introduced, with paint that reduces VOC emissions by over 70%.
Brand Revitalization
The launch follows a period of strategic renewal for Dongfeng Peugeot and Citroen, including the establishment of Shenlong Technology in August and a brand refresh at the Chengdu auto show. According to D1EV, the new models aim to meet the diverse needs of Chinese consumers seeking high-quality, reliable, and intelligent vehicles.
