Deta AI, a Beijing-based startup incubated from the Beijing Institute of General Artificial Intelligence, has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Changan Tianshu Intelligent Robot, a subsidiary of Changan Automobile, to develop humanoid robots for automotive manufacturing. The partnership aims to create a closed loop from data collection to factory deployment, according to Gasgoo, which first reported the news.
From data loop to factory floor
The two companies will work together to adapt humanoid robots to real-world automotive production scenarios, including final assembly, logistics, on-site inspection, assembly operations, loading and unloading, and quality checks. They plan to build a complete chain from research and development, simulation verification, and real-machine debugging to scenario demonstration, with the goal of improving the robots' adaptability, stability, and generalization in industrial settings.
Deta AI, founded in January 2026, focuses on developing native humanoid robot foundation models. Its core technology is a self-developed 3D world engine that processes 3D representations such as point clouds and Gaussian splats, enabling native 3D understanding, reasoning, and prediction of future environmental states. The company has built a three-layer architecture combining a 'brain,' a 'cerebellum,' and force-position hybrid control.
The startup also developed the Delta D1, a head-mounted data collection device that captures full-body skeletal motion, first-person panoramic vision, and fine hand manipulation details. Unlike many other data collection solutions, the D1 records full-body skeleton data across all joints, along with first-person perspective and surrounding panoramic views, and includes tactile information. Because it collects human skeleton data, the same dataset can be transferred to different robot platforms.
Proven on multiple robot platforms
Data collected by the Delta D1 has already been validated on several humanoid robot platforms, including Unitree's G1 and H2, Agibot's Lingxi X2 and A3, UBTech's Kuafu fourth and fifth generations, and Xinghaitu's Kengo.
Changan Tianshu Intelligent Robot, leveraging Changan's experience in automotive manufacturing, focuses on developing industrial humanoid robots, system architecture design, and scenario integration, with an emphasis on deploying humanoid robots in factory environments.
