China's 11th Auto EMC Conference Honors 28 Models for Electromagnetic Safety

The 11th China Automotive Electromagnetic Compatibility Technology Conference took place in Qingdao, where 28 models received electromagnetic protection certification and four were named 2026 annual vehicles.

The 11th China Automotive Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Technology Conference concluded in Qingdao on September 23, 2026, with organizers certifying 28 models for electromagnetic safety and naming four as annual vehicles. The event, hosted by CATARC New Energy Vehicle Test Center (Tianjin), drew more than 200 experts and industry representatives from China and abroad, according to D1EV.

Certification program expands

During the conference, the center presented certifications under its EMTA2026 (Automotive Electromagnetic Protection Technology Verification) program, which assesses vehicles across three dimensions: human electromagnetic health, ADAS electromagnetic safety, and overall vehicle electromagnetic performance. The program aims to help manufacturers identify potential risks during development and improve product safety.

Ten models received certification for human electromagnetic health, five for ADAS electromagnetic safety, and 13 for overall vehicle electromagnetic performance. Among these, four models were named 2026 annual vehicles for electromagnetic protection: the Xiaomi Pengcheng N90 Max, Chery Fengyun A9, Geely Galaxy Warship 700, and Buick Zhijing E7.

Industry collaboration

The conference featured more than 20 presentations from experts and industry representatives covering topics such as EMC standards and regulations, intelligent connected vehicle technology, new energy drive system EMC, and electromagnetic ecological environment technology. Attendees included officials from the China Association for Consumer Product Quality and Safety Promotion, China Automotive Technology and Research Center, Tianjin University of Technology, and Civil Aviation University of China.

The event, now in its 11th year, has become a key platform for China's automotive industry to address EMC challenges, improve product quality, and foster collaborative innovation. Organizers said the conference will continue to focus on new trends and opportunities in automotive electromagnetic safety, supporting the industry's high-quality development.
