BYD's Thailand factory has produced its 100,000th new-energy vehicle, a milestone reached on September 21, according to Chinese automotive outlet Gasgoo, as reported by D1EV. The company marked the occasion with a delivery event attended by its Thailand team, new owners, media and guests.
The vehicle that rolled off the line was the BYD Atto 3, the first model BYD introduced to the Thai market and one that has accompanied the brand's journey from initial entry to local production. The factory currently employs a workforce that is 95% Thai, sources about 50% of its procurement locally, and has five models certified as "Made in Thailand."
Deepening local roots
As output expands, BYD said it continues to strengthen its manufacturing, talent and supply-chain operations to deepen its integration with Thailand's new-energy vehicle ecosystem. During the event, media and customers toured production areas including final assembly, welding, stamping and battery workshops to see how new-energy vehicles are built and to discuss product experience, local manufacturing and future development.
The 100,000th vehicle marks a new phase for BYD in Thailand, where the company says it will remain committed to local manufacturing and to growing alongside the country's new-energy vehicle industry.
