BYD's Fangchengbao Ti 9 Large Six-Seat SUV to Launch in Q4, Priced Around 400,000 Yuan

BYD's Fangchengbao brand has opened reservations for the Ti 9, a full-size six-seat SUV with a hybrid powertrain, targeting a price around 400,000 yuan (about $56,300).

Fangchengbao, BYD's off-road-focused brand, has opened reservations for its new Ti 9 flagship SUV, which is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of this year with a price tag around 400,000 yuan (about $56,300), according to NetEase Auto. The Ti 9 is positioned as a "tech-luxury flagship SUV" and marks the debut of the Ti series, aiming to create a new category of 9-series SUVs in the 400,000-yuan segment.

Design and Dimensions

The Ti 9 is a full-size, boxy SUV with a six-seat layout (2+2+2). It measures 5,270 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,880 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,130 mm. The exterior features a one-piece ring-shaped headlight design, a "starlight power" curved surface, and a starry-sky door handle, all part of the "Tiandi Universe" aesthetic. It also shares the same tailgate design and nano-ceramic clearcoat as BYD's premium Yangwang U8 model.

Inside, the cabin includes a 30-inch panoramic display, Nappa leather seats with a design similar to Mercedes-Maybach, a 31-speaker Devialet audio system, and a 11.3L dual-door refrigerator. The front passenger seat is a cradle-style design, while second-row seats are zero-gravity units with heating, ventilation, massage, lateral adjustment, a 140-degree recline, and electric leg rests. The third row also offers ventilation, heating, massage, and its own air vents and charging ports. Cargo space ranges from 655 liters in standard configuration to 1,245 liters with the third row folded flat, plus a 60-liter underfloor storage compartment.

Powertrain and Off-Road Capability

The Ti 9 is the first model to use Fangchengbao's new DMS hybrid platform, paired with BYD's sixth-generation DM-i hybrid technology. It features BYD's flash-charging capability and second-generation Blade battery, delivering a combined range of over 1,600 km on a full tank and full charge. The vehicle also comes with the YunNian-A body control system with road surface preview, which adjusts suspension damping proactively, and the iATS intelligent all-terrain system that can automatically adapt to snow, sand, mud, and gravel surfaces.

Additional off-road features include rear-wheel steering and a "leopard turn" function that reduces the turning radius, making the large SUV as maneuverable as a compact car in tight spaces. The Ti 9 also supports towing up to 2,000 kg, and its tailgate can open to 72 degrees with a maximum load capacity of 300 kg.

For safety, the Ti 9 comes standard with BYD's "God's Eye" B 5.0 advanced driver assistance system, a high-strength steel cage body, 13 airbags, and a tire blowout stability control system. The vehicle is designed for families, covering urban commuting, long-distance travel, and outdoor camping scenarios.
