BMW has released the first official spy shots of its Neue Klasse M3 electric sedan, revealing a design closely aligned with the earlier M concept. The production version retains the signature small kidney grille and dual yellow headlights, but makes several pragmatic changes, including a smaller front splitter and a more subdued rear diffuser, likely to reduce repair costs in daily use. According to D1EV, the M3 will ride on an 800V architecture with a quad-motor M eDrive system, with peak outputs estimated at 480 kW (644 hp) for the front axle and 560 kW (751 hp) for the rear, potentially exceeding 1,000 kW (1,341 hp) combined.
Lynk & Co 900 and Lincoln 810
Lynk & Co's flagship SUV, the 900, is also due for a facelift. Spy shots show the split-headlight design replaced by a single integrated unit, with a black decorative panel where the daytime running lights once sat, possibly housing interactive lighting features. The bonnet gains new creases, giving the updated 900 a more imposing, upright stance befitting a flagship. Inside, the large dual-screen layout is expected to remain, but the chipset is likely to be upgraded.
Lincoln is preparing a new large SUV, code-named 810, which D1EV suggests could become the brand's new flagship in China. The heavily camouflaged prototype shows a boxy, upright silhouette reminiscent of the Navigator, with a long hood, a long L113 (the distance from the front wheel center to the pedals), and a flat waistline. The test car features conventional door handles and a roof-mounted lidar, indicating support for urban NOA (city advanced driver assistance). A seam across the tailgate hints at a split-opening 'heaven and earth' design. Charging ports on both rear fenders suggest a hybrid powertrain, though whether it will be a PHEV (plug-in hybrid) or EREV (range-extender) is not yet confirmed. The model could debut at the Guangzhou auto show later this year.
Kia Sportage and MG 07 Tourer
Kia's new Sportage has been spied overseas, adopting the brand's latest 'boxy' design language similar to the EV5 and EV9. Built on the N3/N4 platform, the new Sportage is about 2 inches longer than the current model, with a slightly extended wheelbase. Powertrain options are expected to include a 1.6T or 2.0L naturally aspirated petrol engine, a HEV hybrid with a 1.49 kWh battery and 242 hp (180 kW) combined output, and a PHEV with a 17.1 kWh battery and 288 hp (215 kW) combined output. The PHEV's pure-electric range is likely to be under 100 km (62 miles) due to the small battery relative to the vehicle's size.
Finally, MG is preparing a Touring (estate) version of its MG 07, a model that has gained attention for its value-for-money positioning. The MG 07 is available with CATL cells across the range and features Momenta's full-scenario ADAS as standard from the second-lowest trim, all at a price around 100,000 yuan (about $14,100) - a Chinese guide price before taxes and incentives.
