Beijing to Host 2026 World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference in October

China's MIIT, transport ministry and Beijing government will co-host the 2026 World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference from Oct 21-23, featuring policy discussions, tech forums and L3 autonomous driving experiences.

Beijing will host the 2026 World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference from October 21 to 23 at the Yichuang International Convention and Exhibition Center in the capital's Yizhuang area, according to a press conference held on September 28. The event is jointly organized by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the Ministry of Transport, and the Beijing Municipal People's Government.

The conference, themed "Gathering Wisdom, Connecting the Unbounded — Steadily Advancing into the Era of Autonomous Driving," aims to serve as a platform for policy exchange, technological collaboration, industrial integration, and international cooperation. It will feature three plenary sessions — an opening ceremony, a general assembly, and a closing ceremony — along with three special events, including an international roundtable on automotive industry cooperation, a Sino-German forum on intelligent connected vehicles, and a forum on Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei regional industrial synergy.

Six Thematic Forums and Six Side Events

The conference will organize six thematic forums covering policy and regulation, standards, key technologies, application ecosystems, connected vehicle coordination, and digital transformation. These forums will be scheduled for half-day or full-day sessions depending on the breadth of topics and participant needs. Additionally, six side events will delve into frontier areas such as in-vehicle communication technology, automotive brand globalization, automotive chip ecosystems, autonomous driving testing and validation, AI industry empowerment, and multi-scenario autonomous driving applications.

Beyond the formal sessions, the conference will feature an immersive experience ecosystem, including the China International New Energy and Intelligent Connected Vehicles Exhibition, a digital factory tour, L3 autonomous driving test rides, a "dual-intelligence" city carnival, science education activities for primary and secondary schools, and an automotive cultural and creative market.

A Platform for Global Cooperation

The World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference has been held annually since 2018, marking its eighth consecutive edition this year. Organizers describe it as a key platform for the global automotive industry to drive technological innovation, foster international exchange, and build consensus on industry achievements. The 2026 edition aims to further strengthen its role as a bridge for policy communication, a hub for technology sharing, a nexus for industrial collaboration, and a vehicle for international partnership, encouraging stakeholders worldwide to work together toward innovative, green, and stable development of the intelligent connected new-energy vehicle sector.
