Beijing Off-Road launches BJ40 EREV Black Edition, unveils global-bound Xingtan 5X

At its 2026 Global User Conference in Changzhi, Beijing Off-Road launched the BJ40 EREV Black Edition at 164,800 yuan, delivered the first Beitai Tandan 700, and unveiled the Xingtan 5X, its first global model, with a starting price around 170,000 yuan.

Beijing Off-Road held its 2026 Global User Conference in Changzhi, Shanxi province, where it unveiled several new models and announced a strategic partnership with the city. The event brought together domestic and international owners, government and enterprise representatives, and industry media, according to PCauto.

New models and deliveries

The BJ40 EREV (range-extender electric vehicle) Black Edition officially launched with a refreshed price of 164,800 yuan (about $23,200), a Chinese guide price before taxes and incentives. The vehicle uses a made-to-order (MTO) model and features a fully blacked-out exterior. Beijing Off-Road claims a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 4.9 seconds and announced seven purchase benefits, including trade-in, rescue, and financing options.

The Beitai Tandan 700 completed its first batch of deliveries. Positioned as an all-scenario intelligent off-road SUV, it caters to business, family, and off-road use. The interior includes leather and wood trim, a health cabin, and graphene physiotherapy seats. It is equipped with Huawei's Qiankun ADAS (advanced driver assistance system), which supports intelligent route planning on unpaved roads.

The Beitai Xingtan 5X made its public debut as BAIC Group's first model designed for the global market. The boxy SUV is nearly 5 meters long and offers a maximum cargo volume of 2,231 liters. The version with Huawei's Qiankun ADAS is expected to start at around 170,000 yuan (about $23,900), with showroom arrivals before National Day and pre-sales expected in mid-October. It will be offered in both PHEV (plug-in hybrid) and BEV (battery-electric) versions, featuring two differential locks, 15 all-terrain modes, and towing capability. The company also launched a "first-generation partner" recruitment program for owners interested in product experience and brand co-creation.

Off-road ecosystem expansion

As part of its "Yueye Five Plus" ecosystem, Beijing Off-Road inaugurated its fifth official off-road base, the "Taihang Xiongfeng" base in Changzhi. Covering over 3,330 square meters, the base includes a 2-kilometer professional off-road track built on the local Taihang terrain, catering to everything from beginner to expert levels. The company now operates five bases in Ya'an, Badong, Chicheng, Lianyungang, and Changzhi.

Beijing Off-Road also announced several user benefits: discounts at the new base, free admission to 46 A-level scenic spots in Changzhi until September 30, and a points incentive program for owners who share off-road content via the brand app. The company revived its "100 Heroes Group 2.0" project, which will evaluate 366 off-road clubs nationwide, and hinted at off-road activities in Alxa during the National Day holiday.
