Beijing Auto Show's New-Energy Sibling Event Set for March 2027, Covering Full EV Supply Chain

The 2027 Beijing International New-Quality Automobile and Future Smart Mobility Exhibition will run from March 27 to April 5, 2027, at two venues, expanding beyond vehicles to include smart manufacturing, AI, and mobility services.

Organizers have announced the full schedule for the 2027 Beijing International New-Quality Automobile and Future Smart Mobility Exhibition, a biennial professional theme show tied to the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China). According to PCauto, the event will take place from March 27 to April 5, 2027, using both the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi Hall) and the Capital International Convention and Exhibition Center, with a total duration of 10 days.

Event Structure and Focus

The first two days (March 27-28) will be media days, open only to registered journalists, followed by professional visitor days on March 29-30, and public days from March 31 to April 5. The parts and components section will have its own four-day run from March 27 to 30.

The exhibition's core theme is "new-quality automobiles and future smart mobility," extending beyond traditional vehicle displays to cover manufacturing and future mobility ecosystems. Besides expanding areas for new-energy vehicles (NEVs) and intelligent connected vehicles, the show will add sections on smart mobility services, new-energy transport solutions, and intelligent robots, plus dedicated zones for smart factories and digital production lines to showcase the full smart-manufacturing process for vehicles and key components.

A significant highlight will be the "AI + Auto" innovation ecosystem, demonstrating artificial intelligence applications across the entire chain of vehicle R&D, production, and usage. The culture and experience section will feature classic car displays, automotive design derivatives, an educational zone on new-quality vehicles, and multi-scenario test drives, with plans to link up with Beijing's local tourism resources for supporting activities.

Industry Significance

The Beijing International Automotive Exhibition, first held in 1990, has grown into one of the world's top industry events. The 2026 edition covered 380,000 square meters, attracted over a thousand domestic and foreign companies, and displayed 1,451 vehicles, including 181 world premieres and 71 concept cars, drawing 1.28 million visitors—all record highs.

During the 2027 show, organizers will host industry seminars on topics such as electrification transition, intelligent connectivity, and automotive exports, and will coordinate with authorities for policy briefings and standards explanations. For business matching, digital tools will pair exhibitors with professional visitors, and targeted invitations will be sent to overseas buyers and dealers, with special matchmaking sessions to help Chinese automakers expand abroad. Operations will integrate data across the two venues for real-time scheduling and visitor flow optimization, along with improved leisure facilities.

The organizing committee noted that China's auto industry is evolving rapidly, with new models and technologies launching frequently, increasing demand for professional display and exchange platforms. The 2027 event aims to uphold the standards of Auto China, integrate global industry resources, and provide an efficient platform for technical exchange and business cooperation, supporting the industry's high-quality development.
