Audi has officially launched the new S5 Avant in China, with the launch edition limited to just 99 units nationwide. The car is priced at 571,800 yuan (about $80,500) as a Chinese guide price before taxes and incentives, according to Gasgoo, as reported by D1EV.
Performance and handling
The S5 Avant is powered by an EA839evo 3.0-liter V6 engine combined with a full-domain hybrid system, producing a maximum torque of 550 N·m (406 lb-ft) and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.5 seconds. The car features an RS-level rear sport differential, sport suspension, and progressive steering for enhanced agility.
Design and features
The exterior retains the classic Avant wagon silhouette, with quad exhaust outlets at the rear. Inside, the cabin offers a multi-screen interactive experience, a nine-zone panoramic sunroof with multiple shading modes, and a Bang & Olufsen sound system with headrest speakers. The car also provides generous cargo space, typical of the Avant body style.
This launch marks Audi's continued push in the Chinese premium market, where it faces growing competition from domestic electric-vehicle makers. The S5 Avant, with its hybrid-assisted V6, targets buyers seeking performance and practicality in a luxury wagon.
