SAIC Audi has moved to dispel rumors that Audi's German headquarters does not recognize the AUDI brand, following reports that the German automaker had blocked AUDI models from entering the German market. In a social media post on Sept. 21, SAIC Audi's head Xie Shiqi said the reports misquoted an Audi spokesperson's remarks about after-sales service, according to Chinese outlet NetEase Auto. The comments were meant to explain that Audi cannot provide after-sales support for unofficial parallel-imported AUDI vehicles, as these are treated as third-party vehicles, not a rejection of the brand itself, Xie said.
Xie also noted that Audi's global CEO Gernot Döllner has repeatedly attended AUDI brand events, including launches and factory openings, and that the E5 Sportback is displayed at the Ingolstadt headquarters. He added that the Audi E7X has sold over 10,000 units within 100 days, and the first AUDI Day is planned for November 2026. Xie warned that legal action would be taken against "excessive and misleading" statements.
