Arcfox Alpha T7 launches in China from 132,800 yuan, undercuts rivals with Huawei ADAS and CATL battery

Arcfox has launched the Alpha T7 mid-size SUV in China with both BEV and EREV powertrains, priced from 132,800 yuan (about $18,700). It features Huawei's Qiankun ADAS, a CATL battery, and a Magna-tuned chassis, aiming to attract young families.

Arcfox, the electric-vehicle brand backed by BAIC, has officially launched the Alpha T7 in Hangzhou, China, on September 16. The new mid-size SUV is offered in nine variants with both battery-electric (BEV) and range-extender (EREV) powertrains, with a subsidized starting price of 132,800 yuan (about $18,700) and a top price of 168,800 yuan (about $23,800). These are Chinese guide prices before taxes and incentives.

According to the Chinese outlet 电动邦 (Dian Dong Bang), the Alpha T7 received over 60,000 orders during its 21-day pre-sale period, with more than 10,000 orders placed within the first two hours. The model targets families, offering a 5,020 mm length and 3,040 mm wheelbase—close to a mid-large SUV—but priced in the compact SUV segment.

Specs and features

The BEV version uses an 84.8 kWh battery from CATL, with a CLTC range of up to 715 km. In real-world terms, that translates to roughly 570-600 km on the WLTP cycle (est.). It supports 800V fast charging, adding 370 km of range in 15 minutes. The EREV version offers a pure-electric range of 320 km on the CLTC cycle (about 250-270 km WLTP est.), with a combined range of 1,315 km and a fuel consumption of 5.58 L/100 km when the battery is depleted.

The Alpha T7 is the first model in its price bracket to feature Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5 Pro advanced driver assistance system, covering highway, city, and campus navigation. It also includes a 17.3-inch central touchscreen, a 1.1-meter panoramic display, dual AI assistants (Ali Qwen and Doubao), and a 21-speaker audio system tuned by the National Centre for the Performing Arts.

Positioning and competition

Arcfox emphasizes that the Alpha T7 is built on a Magna-tuned chassis with CDC adaptive dampers, and it uses CATL batteries across all variants, avoiding the common practice of switching suppliers for lower trims. The brand claims a body torsional stiffness of 51,500 N·m/deg and a high-strength steel ratio of nearly 90%.

The model also features a 200-liter front trunk, a 645-liter rear trunk expandable to 1,845 liters, and 36 storage compartments. Arcfox says the Alpha T7 is designed to appeal to young families, with over 63% of pre-orders coming from buyers under 35, and 60% male customers.

The Alpha T7's launch is part of Arcfox's strategy to bring premium features to the mass market, competing with models like the BYD Song Plus and other mid-size SUVs in China's fiercely competitive EV market.
