Dongfeng's Yijing X9 is set to gain a battery-electric variant, with new filings with China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) revealing the model's specifications and options. The EV version is expected to launch in November, completing the X9's dual-powertrain lineup alongside the existing range-extender (EREV) model, according to NetEase Auto.
Powertrain and battery details
The Yijing X9 EV will be offered in two configurations: a rear-wheel-drive version with a single motor producing 300 kW (about 402 hp), and an all-wheel-drive version with dual motors delivering a combined 450 kW (about 603 hp). Top speed is rated at 200 km/h (124 mph). All variants come standard with CATL lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries.
The filings also list optional features including two-tone paint, multiple wheel designs, and powered side steps, echoing the flagship design language of the EREV version while adding more personalization choices. The wheel options are expanded compared with the EREV model.
Market positioning and order data
The EREV version of the Yijing X9, which went on sale recently, received more than 9,157 firm orders within 24 hours of launch. After the National Day holiday, total orders showed that high-spec variants accounted for 95% of the mix, with an average transaction price exceeding 340,000 yuan (about $47,900). This indicates the model has successfully established itself in the premium family segment.
The EV version continues the strategy of 'full Huawei features plus six seats,' leveraging the co-development of Dongfeng and Huawei's Qiankun full-stack technology to cover intelligent features and safety, aiming to serve high-end family customers with diverse mobility needs.
